I’m so sad to hear this, Brian. Not only because he was a fun and wonderful guy, and an amazing storyteller, but also because I know he was a very good friend to you.

One of my cherished youth memories was meeting my hero, Brooks Robinson, and getting his autograph. He was signing his book at the local Crown station. I was very nervous, but noticed he had my name as Gary. I mentioned it and Brooks apologized and signed a second time.
