Both my Grandparents spoke Gaelic. My Grandmother was from Pictou county and my Grandfather was from Antigonish. According to the 1931 census Gaelic was the language spoken at home by all my ancestors. My Grandfather was beaten by the Priests at school for speaking Gaelic so my mother wasn’t taught.
