We call on the General Assembly to reconvene an emergency session to ban 287(g) agreements. Both sides should agree that local sheriff's offices don't need to do the federal work of immigration enforcement. Our state/local taxes should not be used for this federal responsibility.

I am not sure anything speaks better to how distorted the economic system of capitalism is in this country than this. The idea that landlords can buy and bankrupt and destroy hospitals- centers of care for human beings- it’s just unbelievable that this can happen. Seriously, what are we doing?
