I thought Crimson Desert was just more AAA live service or open world spam. However, I'm getting the impression it's "Breath of the Wild for a mature audience" or something. This is super appealing!

I am cautiously optimistic. Games with this level of detail and marketing rarely launch well though.

What is this Crimson Desert game I keep seeing so much about?

The videos of the player riding a wyvern got my attention. Hopefully there's a proper western dragon you can ride too. Reading that it's a single player RPG that won't be flooded with microtransactions also catches my interest.

You're all reading the label wrong. It's not a snake transformation potion -- it's a tail extension potion! The label is referencing the game Snake, not the literal creature! Every sip adds length to your tail.

I've changed my opinion. I don't think the story is fake anymore. I think it's a deliberate leak or hint as to where Microsoft wants to go. This is the kind of thing companies do so they can perform subtle checks on the sentiments of select customers. Plausible deniability in action.

Microslop's leadership is tone deaf enough to make this kind of mistake. They've done similar in the past. They're doing it on a smaller scale with XBox right now. I'm sure the executives see no problem demanding consumers upgrade their hardware in the middle of AI crushing the consumer market.

The story you linked is probably fake given how absurd the NPU requirement is. Regardless, people should prepare for the end of Windows by not dropping big money on any Windows-only software or live services.

I started laughing as soon as I saw this. If it's true then you can be sure that Microsoft intends to leave the consumer market to focus on the business market instead. NPUs are rare. Requiring them would be akin to the Windows 11 TPM 2.0 limitation on steroids.

For my Myr partial, I put the head and undershirts/pants in an overhead bin bag. The rest of my clothing, the feet, hands, tail, and sandals go in a checked bag.

Everything goes in plastic vacuum bags. Heads do not get compressed though.

My head is too big for the overhead bin or to fit under the seat in front of me. I end up using 2 of the largest-size allowed checked bags in the Samsonite Omni 2 set. 1 bag has my head, hand paws, feet paws, cooling packs, undershirts/pants. The other bag has my bodysuit, tail, and padding.

Same. Classic Marathon was one of those old FPS games with a story and world-building to support it. New Marathon appears to be yet another monetized live service that demands job-like amounts of time. I would play a new single player or cooperative FPS. I don't have time for another live service.

I'm still running an i7 4930k in one of my machines. That CPU is from all the way back in 2013. If you keep the amount of background crap and unneeded services to a minimum, even wildly obsolete CPUs can still have a place in today's computing world.

Both CS1 and CS2 have the issue of left turns defaulting to yield. That doesn't work at high-volume intersections with multiple lanes. The problem is an easy fix in CS1 with the TMPE mod. I could adjust light phases, timing, and coordination. Is there a similar mod for CS2? I miss TMPE!

I have played entirely way too much #CitiesSkylines2 recently. There are some glaring game flaws that are coming to the surface now that I've built a region and larger city. Intersection logic is the biggest flaw. Is there a working mod to micromanage traffic light phases and protected left turns?

Ever get really annoyed at yourself for not producing art, tackling a project, or otherwise putting something off? This is me right now.

I get in these loops sometimes where I get scared to continue working on art because I think I"ll make it worse by touching it.

They're not yet as bad as Twitter, but they're getting worse. A lot of them now seem to have a person confirm hits before posting though. Those that don't will respond to "I want to hire an artist commission job for an avatar logo vtuber model of my sona pet wolf dog" without realizing I'm trolling.

I don't think increased tracking is the right answer towards all the bad online behavior. We shouldn't have to be tracked because of parents who don't parent their children, companies that don't police their own platforms, and organizations that flood the net with fake/spam/bot/slop content.

I think having Microsoft or Google verify age makes more sense than VRChat, Discord, Steam, IGN, Pornhub, and so on individually do so. Hell, my Microsoft, Google, and Steam accounts are old enough to buy alcohol in the US. This will hurt Linux and other smaller operating systems though.

California law requires operating systems to implement age verification by January 2027? This is getting crazy!

I appreciate the effort to move age verification away from websites, apps, games, and others that roll their own solutions that are frequently insecure and sell data to third-parties.

We need to reform the government to consider all the impacts to society when approving or blocking big mergers. I feel like there is way too much emphasis placed on revenues, stock valuations, and "corporate synergies" at the expense of workers, consumers, supporting businesses, localities, etc..

I don't really like giving people this feedback as constructive criticism. I know how long it took me to understand the technique, and how badly it frustrated me during my school years. "Show, don't tell" has an enormous and important positive impact on writing though.
