I wouldn’t say he squandered anything. Unless his practice schedule is the reason for the injuries. Which, who knows…but Saleh had a head coach job at the Jets and it didn’t go great. He doesn’t need to be head coach to have defensive juggernauts. Niners have been a top D many of the recent seasons.
He’s a brilliant offensive mind, for sure. And I think you could make a case for him as coach of the year this year given how well the Niners did with all their injuries, but he’s also faltered in many surprising circumstances over time (à la that Super Bowl against KC when he had a lead).

Yeah helluva season for the NFC West. An NFL .com article at the start of the postseason gave Rams the best chance to win it all. I don’t think they’re stronger than this Seahawks team. So that all says something. Cheers to a good season!
Says something indeed! I can’t speak to McDonald’s building in Seattle as I haven’t watched a lot of Seahawks games this year (he’s obviously doing something right though!). I think a healthier 49ers team would’ve made that a more fun competitive game. The injuries have been so brutal.

After multiple seasons with a LOT of injuries, my biggest question this offseason is not trades or the draft, it’s “how do we stop the injuries?” Training staff, workloads, practice regimen.. review ALL of it.
