Well, this is my very first playthrough! As we speak, one of my fighter just die against a Rogue 😅 The game as a very grim ambience, whish I love, and you need to map it with pen and paper (no automap). The vibe is unmatched, love it!

Quite the same here, even if I'm not lost on Substack, going on Twitter/Facebook makes me want to smash my phone instantly 😬
Otherwise the weapon vs. armor came from Chainmail Man to man combat. That I personally use as the standard combat system when playing OD&D.
I know that it comes with a solo dungeon crawler procedures that is in fact the one from AD&D that comes from The Strategic Review volume 1 (so It's a solo rules for od&d by Gygax himself, released in 1975. I speak about it on my very last newsletter if you are curious).
so close that I don't think I need it now that I made the step further into the original material. From what I've read, Delving Deeper is one of the closest from the LBBs excluding chainmail, so that really depend if you are interested with this old mass combat game or not 😉 2/2

Yeah, I also started with White Box FMAG and Delving Deeper is really nice. I dived into the LBBs with Chainmail because of @castlegrief.bsky.social posts. The whight box seems very close to the LBBs+Chainmail, 1/2
