This was the shikishi at today's tea class. It says Empty mind is my teacher. It's by Shodo Harada Roshi. I love that we get these zen lessons every time we study tea.

Found another horse at my house. This is a horse head on a stick I got in Mexico years ago. I keep it in a vase with other items on my coffee table in my living room. Enjoy Happy Year of the Horse.

Here's another Fire Horse. This one is from one of my favorite sushi restaurants Wa Kitchen Ku on MLK. I love that place. Manisha showed it to me when she was visiting. This horse was on the board they place outside when they open.

Today I asked what advice do you have for my daughter and I got The Fool. Perfect for these times she's in. Hope it helps.

Wow this is an intuitive painting I did in 2012. It's so much like aboriginal art. Now that I see the art as I go to Australia. Also this was painted in March and I'm going March 22nd. Interesting for sure.

Just 2 weeks until we leave for Australia. Can't wait to explore the different parts and see all the aboriginal art. So glad we booked our flights early before the increase. Now it's packing just what I need. It will go by fast.

Making this soup from my Moosewood Cookbook from the 70's. I had all the ingredients and they needed to be used up. Everything I make from this book is usually good. So if you want to try it here's the recipe. I like that it uses caraway seeds, nice change.
Found this old haiga and thought I'd post it. It's from 2015. This is one of my favorite intuitive paintings. Enjoy

I'm so excited my best friend since I was 10 years old is coming to celebrate her 80th Birthday with me. We are going to the Oregon coast. It is really something to be friends for 70 years. Here we are when we were 16 we are a lot different now.

Had a fabulous Thai lunch with my daughter and son at YUI on Belmont at 42nd. The best Thai food I've ever had. We met the chef and she said they are all her mother's recipes. We loved it. Here is a photo of Cooper DuBois and Dana Dubois my two grown kids. I'm so proud of both of them. I'm blessed.
Today's tea class. The shikishi says Everyone can find pleasure in their life. The tea sweets were wonderful and a gift from Chie she brought back from japan. We are so lucky to have her in class.
Love this photo for St. Patrick's Day. It was taken when the day care house down the block took the kids on a walk looking for Leprechauns. They asked me if I had seen any. Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone. Enjoy the green beer and corned beef.
Found this old photo of me with two family dogs the terrier Alex was mine when I moved to Portland and the chihuahua is Guerro my son's dog. They have both passed now but were great dogs both of them. Great to see them again.
