Did anyone else have a friend with this game, Battle Masters?
Big fan of play reports because they help others understand one way of making D&D "go", demonstrate where the energy is located in certain modules or adventure styles, or (in the case of old-school D&D) how quirky facets are navigated.
โGovernment grant funding was abysmal and honestly the work was interesting on an abstract level!โ
Same but Iโm the research goon working for Dr Conners or Mr Freeze
As someone who spent many hours over Halo:Reach, Left 4 Dead, and Battlefield, I dig this.
Classic! Iโve pull similar wins in BโTech. Always a good time!

Great post from a great blogger.
If I could add one thing, it would be to *read* more blogs as well. I have been in a bit of a reading slump for a while, and getting out of it, it is amazing how much it inspires me to write. If nothing else, because I see something I disagree with and must respond
I reflect on the 2026 Bloggies, blogging in general, & what inspired the posts featured this year: icastlight.blogspot.com/2026/03/pond...
Appreciate it!
Appreciate it!
Itโs still just such an amazing effort I canโt wrap my head around.

Photography of two books: Ergo Cosmos by Massimiliano Nigro and Queen Mab's Palace by Patrick Stuart.
Two of my latest acquisitions, both some sort of experiment in futuristic medievalism:
Ergo Cosmos Volume 1 by Massimiliano Nigro
Queen Mab's Palace by Patrick Stuart.

The past couple of days Iโve dropped links from the course to folks stumped on some aspect of dungeon design- it helped them break through!
So give it a listen or jump around in the course itself-each piece is semi-self contained
This is absolutely amazing! Itโs really nice to see this series turned into an entire podcast!
Designing Dungeons: Now in podcast formulation
The final countdown!
My personal vote for ๐ฅtop post of 2025 is @elmc.at Mapping the Blogosphere
Knowing the link to/from over time of various blogs is an incredible project not only from a hobby perspective but an academic & preservationist one as well! A true ๐
Argh would have loved to feature this in the next issue but best we can do i guess is give it a boost here, absolutely love the look of those 90s zines
Vermis III

That I am most surprised about but your Mapping of the Blogosphere should take it all.
It literally IS the Bl๐ฎggies!
Wow! Very pleased to have won 2 Bloggies ๐ฎ๐ฎ this year with WHY MEGADUNGEONS? & RANDOM ENCOUNTER AS ADVENTURE RAM.
The competition was stiff and We Read the Bloggies will catch you up on all the great DIY RPG writing. So give your ears some joy. And Clayton has done a fantastic job! ๐
