Probably down a research rabbit hole. π The Not-Quite States of America, about the U.S. territories (W. W. Norton). πAgreeably nerdy food history newsletter: https://snackstack.net He/him, just another dad in Minneapolis.

if anyone needs to listen to a beautiful/sad song this morning...
It would be great if Americans really cared about bombs killing people in Iran but what's most important is that the go-go juice for their cars remains cheap, and I think it's not good messaging for the administration to downplay those concerns and have no plan for addressing supply issues.
I still have, and use, an email address I created in the 1900s π
itβs so cool how $2000 e-bikes are coded as toys for rich elitists while $60,000 SUVs and pickup trucks are viewed as necessities for the working class
βsome noted they had lost fans and donors. There are some people who like Irish music but think ICE is just here to enforce the law. But Natalie OβShea, executive director at Celtic Junction, told me, βTo believe in laws over belief in people is to be colonized.ββ
A mural of a migrant and child on the side of BroTex in Saint Paul, where ICE abducted 14 workers and several observers in November in what was a sign of things to come across the Twin Cities. Fuck ICE.

For me, this was the start of the occupation. A week later they terrorized the East Side guns drawn with SPPDβs assistance.
I love this
A unified theory of pooping
AI could never write this poetry
Graph with various animal icons plotted based on duration (Y axis) and mass (X axis)
"The relationship between body mass M and defecation time. Symbols represent experimental measurements; dashed line represents best fit to the data; solid line represents the theoretical prediction."

well yeah but only because it's too hard to hold them with their trunks
You're welcome
I learned an important fact from my kid at bedtime and now I will pass it on to you:
Nearly all mammals of all sizes take about 12 seconds to poop
The research is fascinating and involves "a 'rheometer,' a precision blender that can measure the properties of liquid-like and solid-like materials"

Now it's like when things are *slightly* better and you're just out of the hospital. You're still *pretty damn sick*βbut now everyone expects you to do normal things, not just focus on surviving. You have less support. In some ways it's harder.
NEW βWeβre celebrating a tradition that is at its core about resisting occupation and maintaining community in the face of horrors. You canβt keep politics out of Irish music. No one should try, for two reasons. First, itβs ahistorical. Second, Minnesotans are ready for a big anti-fascist party.β
I still appreciated the reference!
Live your life so that children donβt celebrate you being fired.
kid running/dancing down the sidewalk, yelling to the world, "KRISTI NOEM GOT FIRED!!!"
Blue circle logo with the words βWe keep us safeβ and βMplsβ set off by stars on either side of βMpls.β The inner circle is split into 4 quadrants by lines; top left is a whistle and top right is the back of a mobile phone to honor observers & interveners; bottom left is a grocery bag to honor those engaged in mutual aid; bottom right is a protest fist but in a winter glove. White βringerβ style with navy color and sleeve ends.

Celebrating Noemβs firing the only way I know how β¦ by focusing-grouping more Mpls Community Defense shirt styles. Been asked for a women-focused cut. Supplier canβt do a ringer style (first image) but offered 3 alternatives. Which would you buy? A - short-sleeve crop. B- 3/4 crop. C- grey non-crop.
Since itβs haberdashery day, the Mpls jacket project is advancing ... Snaps style will likely be in your hands around State Fair time due to production starting from scratch. Gotta sell >60 of these babies & Iβll need pre-payment. The same folks who are making these made St. Paulβs THE JACKET.
(also he is one of the more politically progressive players and helps so many families in brazil and i just want him to be happy and keep doing his thing)
Right!! Also this
also, you've gotta start richarlison. i know this is an unpopular opinion and i know he's inconsistent but the guy has heart and energy and scrappiness for days, and that's all desperately needed
just feels like two basic issues that should be resolved in addition to *waves at everything else*
regarding spurs: lots of blame to go around but (1) why are the captains so bad at keeping it together and (2) why does tudor insist on running the players into the ground during training? it's not like a hard day today makes you fit tomorrowβthe opposite, in fact
Gonna be super funny when we win the Champions League
They are torturing and killing people in our concentration camps, and I wish more people were actively bothered by that
There's a tiny bit more room to breathe. Maybe a touch more optimism, too. But there's no actual end in sight. It's still BAD.
And you feel even more lonely and isolated. Fewer people are paying attention and offering help or empathy or basic patience, even though you still desperately need it.
