4k streaming (compressed) requires ~32Mbps or 4MBps … the game car’s transfer speed is in the realm of 400MBps apparently (though admittedly i can’t find a good source for that)

and yeah the internal storage is faster again… 50% faster than cart (or 66.7% in loading time of the game cart) but if that was a showstopper …

if anything they chose not to optimise “streaming” of storage… and famously you can’t watch 4K or FHD over the internet which is faster than local storage

yeah… I don’t buy it. The cost of carts never came up cause they were never gonna do carts - they had the option not to. The SD cart performance does appear to be ~22% faster than gamecart… but given there is no performance difference on the steamdeck I have doubts

but that is the beauty - OSX had a really good terminal app, and for users that will have issues not having to use the CLI is great. A must in fact.

but yeah Linux/BSD definitely great for more advanced users. Mostly i use MacOS on an M4 cause it is a great all rounder.

now about that cyberdeck…

if UI was king OS X would have won. Windows is the torture most people learnt to live with. Linux is great and to my surprise outdoes MacOS in some ways, but GNU/Linux devs are too ok with going to the CLI to fix bits, so end users will not be able to follow.
