I was in Lucerne today, again, with baby F, and I thought about how much I enjoyed meeting you and how much F immediately liked you (and how adorable it was when you held her), and how I hope we can meet again some day π

What's happening?
ME IN 2019, WATCHING THE GOOD PLACE: damn, how do you even think of something like "time moves in an inexplicable cycle that kinda looks like the words jeremy bearimy?" what a cool show
ME IN MARCH 2026: dear god, i truly hate it here in the dot of this i

Are you saying you're a horned viper? Or a F?
- it's fine to just take language classes for Egyptology, if that's what you're interested in, but you'd be missing a lot of social context.
- a lot of older people do Egyptology as a part time degree, because they're interested in it, not because they want to work in the field
Some points to consider, no particular order:
- Studying Egyptology is just for fun, you're not gonna get a job in the field.
- Basel is a hcol area, plus you pay StudiengebΓΌhren, which aren't a thing in Germany iirc?
Haha kein Problem π
What I can already tell you is that John Darnell, who teaches at Yale, is hated by basically all other Egyptologists π he married a student and they pose in colonial outfits for documentaries and similar, kinda icky
I'm gonna ask around if anyone I know has done Egyptology there. π
As someone who has studied Egyptology, sure!
It is! I recommend learning Ancient Greek or Middle Egyptian first though.
Big hugs, just read back the last few days, oof, what a ride π« Sounds like the right decision to me though! Keeping my fingers crossed for good opportunities coming your way π€
Persimmon, don't like the flavour plus I'm mildly allergic to it.
Other votes go to melons that aren't watermelon and prickly pears.
Will happily take your blueberries since they're one of my favourite fruits!
And for a couple's program, of course, Secret Tunnel from Avatar
I'm torn between something odd and Swiss (possibly Mani Matter?), Landsailor by Vienna Teng, TrΓΈllabundin by EivΓΈr, J'Ai DemandΓ© Γ la Lune by Indochine, Fly To Me by Keane or Sunlight by Hozier.
