The interesting this is that this is not believable if you listen to new bands coming out. Rock and harder genres are having a total resurgence. The dynamic is that the mechanisms of discovery/listening totally changed, and those who like rock typically avoid pop outlets, so those don’t cater to it.

I was positive on Kat before, but now after reading this she’s one of the candidates I’m most excited about.

Solved? The Roman Dodecahedron YouTube video by Amy Gaines

Your post sparked some heathy curiosity for me and I was thinking something similar. But then I ran across this video and I’m on team jewelry weave now.

It technically applies to everyone to be in line with our state’s constitution, but deducts the first $1M.

Why isn’t there any language in the bill that maintains that as the minimum deduction level?

Also, will that deduction survive legal challenges, or will this end up being a tax on everyone?

Yeah, so many are just standard keyboards but metal and with louder switches. There have been some great options come out that don’t require a years long group buy though, which is great. An example: divinikey.com/collections/...

An aside from the original topic, but if you love that layout, there are some high end mechanical keyboards in a similar layout called the β€œAlice” layout. Some are tented too, which is comfortable. I’ve been using those for years and won’t switch back to a normal one now.

I feel like this concept is a good litmus test to see who thinks only in flashy narratives. The space computers in orbit idea breaks down so fast once you look at cooling, radiation, repair, latency, cost, storage challenges, power issues, launch logistics, security risk, etc. It just so stupid.

More evidence that the far right and racists should not have access to AI.

It is a popular meme format…. Not ever piece of communication is meant for every subgroup of the population. No need to get offended.

Maybe a competing service that’s like the chaos-world version of LinkedIn is needed. I think you’re on to something.

Around 95% of corporate AI initiatives fail to deliver meaningful value, and the reasons are super predictable. I wrote about why the β€˜deploy AI everywhere’ approach is failing, why most of it should probably be left alone, and where to look to make an impact.

It’s kinda great that they generally get issued the P320 for this reason.

There is no such thing as Bluesky elite in politics posting tbh. Sure some people may have followers and attention, but that’s a whole different category of thing than β€œelite”.

It’s a camera monopod and ball head with something (maybe a grip?) attached. The ball head looks like a Leofoto LH-25 or equivalent. Maybe he’s a party photographer or maybe it’s being used as a cane? Maybe something totally different. Either way, this guy prompts multiple questions.

Not the point of this post, but what’s going on with the other guy’s left hand? Did he steal it from a cadaver?

I was on 24th by the QFC with my family when multiple cop cars then an ambulance went speeding by. Now seeing this story it’s extra disturbing. After learning about the perp it’s kind of too bad the cop wasn’t a better shot.

I was going to say, that was super early for DSLR video. The 5DmkII changed everything. I was pretty jealous of the capabilities as a Nikon shooter.

It must have been so cool to have that level of quality (for the time) so much more portable in a concert situation like that.

Thank you for doing the right thing and being a steward for all of us. The more people do things like you did and take a stand, the healthier our county is.

Yeah, that’s a great way to describe it. It also had its own version of AI tells like how ChatGPT will write things like β€œAnd honestly?”, overuse of β€œactually”, β€œβ€”β€œ, etc.. Like half the time it uses female vocals, it puts these weird spookyish and reverby vocal notes at the beginning of the song.

I tried generating music with AI out of curiosity. I wrote music and played in bands when I was younger, so wanted to hear how it could do compared to what I could. At first I was legitimately impressed, but the more I listened to the music, the worse and more generic it sounded.

Time spent thinking about Katie Miller is time wasted.

There is an opportunity cost for every article you publish. It’s good to make sure that cost is below the value of the article. That isn’t the case with this subject.

One space for words, two spaces for sentences, and new line for paragraph.

It just makes sense.

100% bet they’re doing this now because they integrated Palantir’s facial recognition systems and tracking into them.

They do have a right to do so. That’s different than it being socially acceptable or the right thing to do. But they absolutely have that right.

I have scanned PDFs of the Nazi documents itemizing the things they took from my family (grandparents and great grandparents) because they were Jewish. What struck me as I first saw the docs was how official and sanctioned it all was. The US with ICE now feels like it’s in a similar spot sadly.

That was tried with Bannon in 2016 and it didn’t fully work. I think that a modification of it for Miller can. It’s the angle that he’s behaving as if he thinks he can manipulate Trump and be the real power, but he’s a PR idiot and is harming polls and perception directly and acutely.
