Probably the #1 thing I see on storm damage surveys here in Georgia.

I won't give you the all clear but I'll give you a "it's looks messy and less capable than 30 minutes ago"
40 to 45 mph off TATL inside the southwest perimeter. 10 to 15 mph off KFFC, which given the angle is approaching near perpendicular and becoming not useful for straightline wind investigation.
Ah crap. Getting windy near the surface down towards south Fulton into Coweta.
<ImInDanger.gif>
Good example of being careful about radar interpretation w/ velocity. Radar measures wind moving toward and away along the radial. As line approaches radar, the angle on the outer portion becomes larger, and the vector component blowing towards the radar lower. Get a 10-15 mph difference off TATL.
Not a fan of the bookend vortex on the north side of this. Increased tornado potential through much of the metro as that passes through.
Radar image from KFFC just south of Atlanta showing strong storms pushing into west Georgia.
About to get windy on the west side of ATL, moving to the southeast. Descending rear inflow jet signs in place with bowing line segment and evaporation of the stratiform precip just behind.

Derrick Jones and Yaw Yeboah have just been issued lifetime suspensions from Major League Soccer for betting on MLS matches.
"After reviewing the results of the investigation, MLS concluded that the players engaged in extensive gambling on soccer, including on their own teams."
For the same $6 trillion cost, you could crush child poverty with a child allowance and free childcare, fix unemployment insurance, do paid family, sick & medical leave, massively boost ACA subsidies, and eliminate child uninsurance with Medicare for Kids.
What are we even doing here? The bulk of this is like four trillion dollar regressive tax cut that doesnβt help the poorest families at all and helps the richest the most.
To make it less regressive, he adds like another two trillion in progressive tax cuts that targets families with kids.
holy shit
My takes from the F1 race:
1) Mercedes is good, but I'm not convinced 2014 good.
2) The passing looks good...if we can get cars next to each other.
3) Having a car suddenly slow at the end of a straight in F1 is Not Good. Racing at this level has always been about picking braking points.
Time for the Annual Take.
Do this day one last time and never change the clock again. Permanent DST.
Dunne with one of the dumber moves I've seen in a racecar in a bit during the F2 race. Whew.
with music added
Gonna be a long wait till August for that engine to get banned π
I really enjoy watching other people play these. I have no desire to engage them myself.
Max unable to get the new car through the first corner of the first lap at full speed. Ohhhhh boy.
Unbelievably, the chassis was in fact okay and they are desperately trying to put the car together for quali.
Colton Herta still looking rough in F2 for the sprint race. Damaged the car on lap 2 with a questionable look inside, had several more incidents and spun another car.
Max: "It's like I fucked the steering column! [...]" GP: "Just elaborate on that Max." Max: "Well, I drive out of the pits, right? And I'm steering alot with the column, to try and get out, since then the steering has been completely fucked."
LMAO MAX
Kimi's Antonelli's crash
Huuuuuge wreck for Antonelli in FP3. He is okay but they may not have a car for Qualifying. No way the chassis is okay, they have 2 hours to build a new one.
Yeah. We have a separate line for storm reports that goes to a voice mail that plays over a speaker for all of us. We get plenty of the "you need to issue a (insert warning)" calls that get filtered out via those. Usually if we answer, it is quickly obvious they are experiencing like 40 mph winds.
This is more common than you may think. I've been called by a kid watching some YouTube stream and told I needed to issue a FFW. After the 4th call I asked to speak with parents and gave a line about calling federal protective services if it continued. That finally made the back to back calls stop.
Never happier to have an electric vehicle.
(Yes, I know there will likely be knock on effects for electricity prices, let me have something.)
Probably the first time the Nintendo legal team has done something popular.
Kalshi was reportedly paying a 15-year-old gamer to hype its online gambling platform as part of its heated rivalry with Polymarket until a lawyer said please don't:
"Yo brother, legal team confirmed that we can't work with minor...
