The only thing this does in the short term is make it easier for white kids to rise to the top without making them work harder. Which is the whole point, right? Except that now companies will just start hiring tech workers overseas. We already do this and that's about to go 📈

If other governments decided to spread misinformation to the American public, they would be well poised to do so through TikTok. This is how misinformation campaigns from foreign entities happens and it should bother every one of us because it gives them the power to influence our elections.

There have been allegations that TikTok was showing large amounts of pro-Hamas content to our college aged kids, which would account for the high level of anti-Israel sentiments and resultant disillusionment with the Biden/Harris administration among that demographic.

Earlier this year, Congress considered the information from this investigation and passed the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act with OVERWHELMING BIPARTISAN SUPPORT. ByteDance again refused to divest, leading to the ban this weekend.

In 2020, $rump signed an EO to ban tiktok if they did not agree to sell part of it to an American company. They refused to divest but the order was blocked by the courts.

When Biden took office he reversed the order and also looked into any potential national security threats by foreign owned apps.

In spite of OVERWHELMING BIPARTISAN SUPPORT for the new law that bans TikTok, $rump has promised to reverse it, which he can now do with full immunity granted by our Supreme Court.

This effectively DESTROYS the separation of powers that our founding fathers wrote into our constitution.
