Aww, now I've got a craving for a pastry roll. I love that kind of cake.

Thank you for your kind words. They mean a lot to me!
Originally I didn't intend to add a dorsal line, as I couldn't really see much evidence of one in my reference pictures. It kept bothering me though, so I decided to go ahead and add it anyways. The rest of the day has been devoted to working on the feet.
The body is coming together really well, and I'm excited to see this plushie finished. Stitching the hoof bottoms was a battle. It seems like embroidery machines have a Diva-problem. They'll work without a hitch, as long as you don't look away. The moment you do, they'll screw up without fail.
Thank you!
Working hard on the extra fluffy donkey, and making good progress. I feel like I've been flying through the assembly so far. Checking my notes, I'm currently at 22ยฝ hours, so maybe it's the time that is doing most of the flying. Let's see how much more the body and hooves will add to that.
Fluffy donkey ears done! I'm loving the outcome. I was worried, that all the fur woukd make them very hard to flip, so I tried a different assembly order and moved the opening. It worked out really well, and made the ears so much more enjoyable to make.
Extra fluffy muzzle, for an extra fluffy donkey. I'm having trouble making the nostrils show, but I'll see if I can improve them later on.
A donkey made with extra fluffy fur was the winner in my follow-up poll. I started on the prep work yesterday. I'm now 7 hours in, and am ready to start with the actual assembly.
Thanks for voting. Looks like the shaggy donkey won.

Sorry for dropping off the face of the Earth. I've been updating my webstore, but I'm feeling ripe for a break.
The winner of last week's poll was the fluffy donkey. Now I'd like to know, how much fluff?
Should I go with the scruffy looking fur, or the longer option for an extra shaggy donkey?
What plushie should I work on next? Comment below to cast your vote!
โข Another calf with random spots.
โข A pinto horse with different spots.
โข A pig with flat pile fur.
โข An extra fluffy donkey.
Thank you!
Aww, thank you โฅ๏ธ
I remember struggling to take nice outdoor pictures with these colorful calves during summer. Let's just say they stucknout like sore thumbs against the greenery. A snowy landscape works so much better for them!
These beautiful rainbow calves are all up for grabs.
Winter and snow presents its own set of challenges, when it comes to photographing my plushies. The first and foremost one, is convincing myself to actually get out there! Another one, is the plushie blending too much with the backdrop. Eventually I did find the most perfect spot at my inlaws.
Theodora the spotted miniature Highland plushie is all done.
I'm really happy with how well the spotted fur worked out, despite the randomness of the spots. None of the leg markings lined up, so I was a bit worried that they'd come out looking weird, but I think they look great.
Floppy stage!
Done with the snoot and head! I'm liking how the random markings are coming together. A lot busier than anything I'd draft myself, but pretty good looking. Can't wait to see the whole body come together! Oh, and this little one is still up for grabs.
Meet "the Werewolf" !
I spent most of last year making this life-size beast and his many many details ! A lot of them were so tiny that I had to hand-sew them (which is kinda crazy on a 1m70 tall plush !)
He's huge he's fully made of faux fur he got claws he got teeth he got many many stripessss
Most of the body is done. It's only missing the tail and some internal structures.
Those who follow my work, know that I'm a sucker for sewn markings. Although this one was supposed not to have any, I ultimately couldn't resist the temptation. I've added ONE sewn marking to the tail tip!
Back to working on the spotted calf!
Yeah, I've been wondering how the paint would affect the overall feel of the fur. I understand that you can and need to dilute the paint. In my case, my skin would put a swift end to any painting endeavors. I get rashes very easily, but have managed to work out a truce between my skin and plushing.
This one will be a test for a cheaper option of a spotted calf (with no effort put into trying to align markings). I've used spotted fur for a goat plushie once, years ago, and remember spending a lot of time on trying to align atleast some of the markings. It turned out to be very uneffective. XD
It is time consuming to sew the markings, but it's also the only way to get specific color combinations and markings that actually align. There are artists, who sew pure white plushies and airbrush them afterwards, with increadibly realistic outcomes, but airbrushing isn't an option for me.
I've been waiting for an opportunity to finally try out some of the spotted furs I got last year. This (unclaimed) shaggy calf will have no sewn markings, just randomized dark brown spots. I'm very curious how it will turn out.
