We watched the movie Tramps! last night. Itβs a 2022 film about the rise of the New Romantics movement in London. Specifically about a group of free-spirited artists, musicians, personalities, queers that ended up having an outsized cultural impact on the 80s.

Iβm excited to share βwetlandsβ - a new album of music. I feel really good about this collection of tracks. Ambient and downtempo. #synthsky

Been noodling with this project for weeks. After taking a break from it to focus on learning the Make Noise NUSS modules, I'm trying some of the patch ideas to sprinkle it onto this existing project. Loving the interaction between Zadar and MultiWave and Polimaths.

I donβt love this composition, but it does provide a little bit of an idea of the density and Byzantine layout of the coal breaker. Narrow chutes and ladders for humans to move about among machinery for processing coal.
These boots were the only personal items left behind at the St Nicholas coal breaker facility. Likely arranged by another photographer in this way.
A photo taken 15 years ago at an abandoned coal breaker in PA. Utterly fascinating place to explore. Massive vertical structure, full of menacing machinery that looked like something out of a dystopian science fiction film. This facility has since been demolished.
Nice! Great band. I didnβt know they existed until I saw them open for Ladytron in 2007. They were so good!
βI was a kid whenβ¦β
Thanks for confirming. I was a kind when the first one blew my mind. Not a great film, I realize as an adult, but iconic nonetheless. It deserved a solid follow up (or none at all). Sigh. The last one sucked too.
Fantasy scenario.
Like many of us, you must be your own worst critic. You are a very sexy bear. Like the bumpersticker says: Donβt believe everything you think.
Iβve heard this bandβs name here and there. But didnβt follow up until tonight. I dig the sound, the dark vibe, and the performance. Reminds me a lot of my earlier years when I could not get enough of industrial. Somehow in our new dark times, this feels right. youtu.be/HJgjZ6vbHI0?...
Shoulda added Shpongle, but limit 5
Oh, hopefully put to work for as long as needed!
Yeah seriously would like to be seated under that desk.

First patch with the Make Noise βNew Universal Synthesizer Systemβ modules. Itβs quite an interesting take on polyphony in modular, allowing control of a number of parameters with just a few inputs/controls. Iβm still getting to grips with it, but Iβm loving the results thus far.
Assuming this is a reaction to the awful events at Bondi, I can say we are really shocked. Trying to square this to our first visit there just 10 days ago, full of joy and good times. Itβs so sad.
Ugh. What a farce. Sorry that happened. I wouldnβt come back either!
Ah country living!
Hey where about do you live now? Iβm in Emeryville.
Hah thatβs wild! Steve is a good guy. I went back many times to check out the monthly Saturday afternoon performances. Super fun, and good to see how people were using their systems. But at this point itβs been 5 years since I was there. Covid changed that.
Cheers! Itβs funny because I was going to get a Mother 32, but it was sold out at the shop I went to (Robotspeak in SF). The owner suggested the Pittsburgh Modular system 10+ instead. It was a bit more than the M32, but it had the advantage of coming in a 90HP case so it was immediately expandable.
Itβs already been 10 years since I anxiously dove into the world of modular. Anxious because I spent too much on something I didnβt fully understand. And TBH I was overwhelmed for the most of the first year. But I stuck with it and wow itβs been such a rewarding hobby! #eurorack #synthsky
Shit. Sorry to hear that. But sounds like you are off to a good start. Hopefully not too stressed!
Sounds cool!

To give a sense of the size of the campus at Norwich State Hospital, the structure with stacks outside the window in this shot was the power station for the hospital complex. It was essentially a small village. #urbex #norwich #norwichstatehospital
