That's awesome... especially if it was a surprise visit!
Thank you for sharing!
Thank you @burgessdave.bsky.social & @bethhouf.bsky.social for the #LeadLAP chat this morning... the connection was just what I needed and the new Ideas and take aways is a bonus on this Saturday morning!
have a great week crew!
A3- I'm going to connect with @tikaee.bsky.social to learn some of her ideas to transform our CPTs to PLCs and support ongoing teacher learning for student outcomes
#LeadLAP
Not per se- but I would like to see our CPTs transform more into PLCs
Thank you.... it was a collaboration between a design parent and our art teacher... It came out amazing and the book keeps our vision of all students becoming readers!
I'm working on a PD Choice Board for Ts and Paras that can be used when I have the opportunity to give them choice for PD that isn't district directed or a building need- finding the balance
Yay! Thank you for sharing... what are the expectations to earn an invite to the attendance party?
That's the million dollar question.... to increase family involvement in these type of opportunities. This sounds similar to our school council but we have identified parents that attend the monthly meeting. I do a lot of recruiting!
#LeadLAP
A2- We need to transform our Common Planning Time for teachers. We have about 40 minutes before school 1x week for each grade level but it's become more of a check in and to do list and we want to transform it into intentional learning for Ts and looking at Ss work for ways to improve #LeadLAP
I like the Bingo Board idea... maybe we will change it up next year
Thank you... We have our team doing some of this planning so we can meet with parents and find out what the barriers to attending are and offer as much support as we can.
Wow! That sounds amazing and the Ts are engaged in learning
That's why we redid ours too.... the original ones were 'forced' into the theme and so we looked at what values we (staff, students, parents) wanted to focus on and that's how we got our 3Rs (not a fancy acronym but it works for us) and we did a student contest for the new mascot! Lots of buy in
YES! We need to be more intentional about early intervention and support for all of our learners (no zeros)... they need to LEARN through support, coaching and teaching. Whatever it takes!
#leadLAP
We have a more traditional Open House too... we do it later in September so students have work to show their adults and we do a 'scavenger hunt' for students to explore the building with their adults to show off all the learning areas!
This is one of our priorities... I'd love to hear more about your meetings and parties... we're diving in more on Monday to develop mid year action plans
A1- We've transformed our identity... moving from 'Little Devils' to the Memorial Moose and embracing our 3Rs- Respect, Responsibility, and Resilience.
We work intentionally to live into our identity and values on a daily basis.
#LeadLAP
I was thinking the same thing the other day... I can't believe we are a week away from February!
Good Morning, Tika
Good Morning, Jay. I hope you're staying warm!
Good Morning, Dave
Woo Hoo! Excited to join the #LeadLAP conversation this morning on Blue Sky!
I'm Bobbie- a PK-2 Principal and all things for kids these days. Staying warm and taking a break from writing evals!
What are YOU Reading? I just finished one and started another! Maybe I can actually read 3 books over break!
This is a great word! It's one of my previous #OneWord s also!
Thank you Peter H. Reynolds for visiting! We are embracing βIshβ and students are creating already!
Love this. Want to share with others as we lean into winter and not holidays
Happy Thanksgiving π¦ Jay
Love bringing JOY to the students!! Nothing like a little turkey as we headed into break π¦
