I came here to say this.
It's a great venue and (almost) free. A convention centre or something similar would almost certainly mean charging admission. It's an entirely new board, and I think it's better for them to make sure they can succeed at a smaller event than risk screwing up a bigger one.

I've been feeling down about comics, but that's only because I haven't had any time to work on them in over a month. Objectively, things are going good. I got into the anthology, I got into vancaf, I got a cheque from the govt AND one for doing a one-day workshop. I have readers on webtoon.

A deluxe edition of @ryannorth.ca and Albert Monteys' adaptation of Kurt Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse-Five is coming in October. This is one of my favourite comic book adaptations. It captures the Tralfamadorian perspective, unspooling a character's life on the page.
