I will never stop finding funny that one of the world’s most prominent and vociferous transphobes gave her main character a pet named Hedwig. I understand that the chronological ordering puts her naming choice first, but that doesn’t make it any less funny.

I like the Olivia Rodrigo cover of Book of Love a lot but don’t sleep on the Ana Gasteyer cover! So good

As an effeminate white teen and twenty-something man*, I had many more people telling me I was gay than telling me I was trans. And while it was irritating, it was also really easy to respond with “Nope, you’re wrong.”

Along these lines, MIT has a (really nice) room named after the actual developer of the idea of the military-industrial complex as a desirable thing. At any other university it would likely be a whole building, but unfortunately his name wasn’t Vannevar Thirteen.

I genuinely love that the one positive-ish moment of this one is nostalgia for a song about being an abusive drunk.

For those not familiar this isn't cute. Massachusetts officials only do this when they're extremely distressed.

JANUARY
A postcard writing game for two people, set in a kaiju-filled alternate history, about distant but persistent friendships.
JANUARY is a postcard-writing game about two artists living ordinary lives over five decades, in a world besieged by giant kaiju.
By Indiecade-winning, Ennie-nommed game designer and artist Shing Yin Khor, in collaboration w/ illustrator Jared Andrew Schorr.

More time has passed since the Achen/Bartels shark attacks paper than passed between the actual shark attacks and the paper's publication.
Okay that isn't true but it will be someday.

I think there’s something of a selection bias issue. Lots of countries have proudly isolationist factions, but those aren’t the people you’re likely to meet when you travel to someone else’s country, whereas it’s much easier to meet them at home.
