On to book #3: MOONRAKER (1955). James Bond must thwart a nuclear missile from striking the heart of London. Fay Dalton once more provides great illustrations for this @foliosociety.bsky.social edition.
The line art for the cover of issue #2 of THE MAN FROM MICTLAN.

Just finished reading LIVE AND LET DIE. Before jumping in to MOONRAKER gonna squeeze in this little paperback: SAVING GRACE, a novel written by filmmaker Ed Wood back in 1975. This new edition was published in December 2024. Can't believe I hadn't heard of this for over a year!
A friend sent me this pic. For a minute I was like "Whoa..badass!".... then I realized I drew it for him in 2018!
In one of my classes this semester I'm having the students do a one page comic on someone they admire/look up to. As an example I drew up this Steve Ditko comic which I'll be showing them in the next class.
Coincidentally the title of the comic echoes the opening line of ATLAS SHRUGGED...
Started reading the second James Bond novel LIVE AND LET DIE (1954). Fleming takes Bond to Harlem and the Caribbean to do battle with gangster and Soviet agent Mr. Big.
Not exactly sure why, but on January 13, 2024 I came up with an idea for Zonkey Muerto! Partly inspired by the infamous Zebra Batman, perhaps this was an alternate reality Muerto based in Tijuana, MX. I really don't remember.
We'll see if he ever turns up in a story....
Maybe itβs just me, but I think this panel would make a cool t-shirt !

His DIY guide covers all aspects of producing the comic (scripting, art, lettering, etc) as well as the mechanics of self-publishing (printers, retailers, distribution, etc). I'm always fascinated by other creator's process.
CREATING COPRA by @michelfiffe.bsky.social . In it he shares his process behind his self-published comic series Copra, which he launched over 10 years ago. Michel started out with a monthly schedule and maintained it every since. No small feat considering he was producing a colored comic.
