Please political hacks & news media, report what voters wanted & voted for. Huge majority of centre left progressive voters, lots of support for an engaging authentic Green candidate, utter rejection of Reform and Goodwin. Without the total collapse of the Tory vote Reform would be nowhere.

She was the best local candidate by far, the Greens had a credible policy platform and the Manchester voters rejected Reform. Without the total collapse of the Tories, Reform would have come nowhere. Good night for democracy.

Our very own homunculi, frogs and toads are moving, colonising ponds locally in Derbyshire tonight, these three frogs are in our garden ponds!

The drama of Thomas Hardy’s darkling thrush, Herefordshire’s remarkable display of winter mistletoe, shoaling trout and the challenges of getting Forestry England to think of forests as multi-purpose. My @thetimes.com Nature Notebook online & in yesterday’s paper.

Jim Ratcliffe did not β€˜found’ Ineos the great chemical giant, he bought and asset stripped the remains of ICI, a company founded and developed by German migrants to the UK, the Mond family.

I bet he employs lots of immigrant chemists in his businesses, he would be treated by immigrants in the NHS and were he to need adult care in his old age they will be immigrants. I hate privileged fascists like Ratcliffe.

He’s confusing weather with climate, a single data point with trends. So do pub bores and Telegraph columnists in the pockets of the fossil fuel industry.

Interesting, we are dealing with some tricky planning cases locally and groundwater - not river - flooding is the problem.

Farage is a danger to us all.

Why is no one investigating & exposing his extensive links to a secretive, dodgy and illegal network of individuals around the world who are trying to subvert our democracy, with funding from Russia?

Or what are your plans for education, business, local government, benefits, overseas relations, transport, regions, cyber-security, heritage, sport, water resources, energy, the NHS or indeed any policy area? Farage is a one man band, an empty vessel!

Instead of the hapless BBC political hacks bigging up Farage or seeking his commentary on the performance of the PM, why aren’t they asking him about his relationship with Epstein, his links to Bannon and Epstein and his support for a US President implicated thousands of times in the Epstein files?

04.02.2026 17:21 πŸ‘ 30 πŸ” 13 πŸ’¬ 2 πŸ“Œ 1

BBC News rightly castigating Mandelson for his appalling behaviour and friendship with paedophile Epstein, but why have Farage commenting when he is linked to Epstein too?

My former colleague at the RSPB was a land agent called Alan Bird. He signed deeds to buy and manage nature reserves β€˜A Bird’.

The media reporting of Keir Starmer’s visit to China has skewed towards the human rights issues. Meanwhile across the pond β€˜our closest ally’ is murdering its own citizens, building detention camps, sinking fishing boats in international waters and failing to prosecute a paedophile gang.

Agree, there’s a time and a place for leadership challenges and change. Doesn’t seem like now is that moment. Better to just get on with governing competently.

Donald Trump said something that was disrespectful of NATO allies’ armed forces, including British service men and women. He said it because he believes it. He’s a little man gradually making his own country smaller. Any UK politician that excuses or encourages Trump won’t get my vote.

Farage backing Trump on Greenland, Badenoch bashing Starmer for standing up to Trump. Never trust these plastic patriots, they do not have our national interests at heart, they are grifting opportunists.

Britain and its allies should shun any so-called Peace Board that Putin is a member of.

People considering voting for Farage and his gang need to reflect on recent events. The bulk of his party is failed Tories from the right of the party that lost miserably at the last election. Farage is a cheerleader for Trump and his mad policies on Greenland & tariffs and for warmonger Putin.

Contrast Starmer’s tactical balancing act with Mark Carney’s bold actions.
