9/11. Seeing the ways in which organized religion was used and abused to justify heinous acts especially after the fact. All the times being told the sins and hypocrisy are permissible and even encouraged for the cause, soon after.

I am super glad they come with heat spreaders now. I’ve always been real concerned about scratching or chipping the surface whenever I do anything with these.

Cleaning out some stuff. I found the CPU from my very first custom build, one I used to learn FL Studio and to write all my music from 2002-2007, pretty much the pivotal moments that started music for me for real. It needs to be cleaned properly. Maybe I’ll figure out a way to frame it.

If you don’t know what that stacking flow is, here’s a screenshot of an old version. The flow is from top to bottom, and things that are connected are vertically stacked. It’s how you can easily visually represent multiple inputs and outputs.

I really liked Werkkzeug’s stacking flow a lot back when it was new, and I can’t get it out of my head, so I’m probably just going to steal that design outright for editing

Procedurally generated music is basically the same as tracking for a sound chip, you just get to choose what features you get. But graphics, I don’t know much about image processing that isn’t format conversion.

I’ve had a fascination with procedurally generated assets again and might be toying around with the idea for music and graphics. The former, I have experience with already (I did music for a 4k/64k demos a long time ago) but the latter will be new territory for me.

Yuuuuup. Left Windows, haven’t looked back. It’s been about 12 months now.

It’s also where a lot of my skunkworks projects go, and only a handful actually make it public - the ones I think are actually useful to anyone else.

I really just don’t want to have to support a project that isn’t supposed to be used yet.

I originally started my own Gitea so that I could work on hacking projects that GitHub might elect to remove, and mirror projects from GitHub that are in danger of extinction. I don’t trust a cloud provider as the sole location of projects anywhere from lessons learned, personal experience

Lots of code projects in the works and none of them are really on GitHub anymore. I’ve been enjoying self hosted Gitea so much. It’s absolutely destroying my activity graph though. (Which come to think of it, why do I care about it actually)

I always imagined it would be fun to wrap long friends around me like a blanket to this kind of weather. I’m a heater, and some of my cooler blooded friends might prefer that.

I feel you. There are some days I don’t even check notifications. These are the days I get the most creative stuff done. Everything demands our focus and attention at all times, it’s how the internet is designed now.
