They are very weird people, and it will be their downfall.

Performative religious nationalism might work in America, but most British people - including most Christians - think it's weird.

Well that’s an, um, β€˜interesting’ take on both Britishness and Christianity. Almost like a divisive right wing political party doesn’t really speak for either.

Fennesz and KMRU both have the mix of melody, grit and noise that I love - bit of a dream collaboration for me.

Music from Memory is one I’m familiar with, but otherwise this Aquaticos record is all new to me - sounds great, just my sort of thing.

Oh, completely, it’s a great record. And always good to see FSA get some love - one of my favourites, and that whole scene was amazing.

Yeah, it’s great . Don’t think it’s quite up there with MBV or FSA, but it’s very good.
Great to see Yellow Swans releasing new stuff. If only we could get same from MBV…

His music is all awesome. This is, I think, first proper β€˜album of the year’ contender for 2026. Amazing record. And it has Fennesz on it. So, so good.

Would be good if the Prime Minister and/or Home Secretary would for once come out and describe this as the unadulterated racism and xenophobia it so clearly is.

Theology PSA:

The New Testament never envisions a Christian nation-state or nationalism.

But it does envision a servant "kingdom" of peace, justice, and love where the poor are blessed, the powerful are brought low, and there is no longer "Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male and female."

I don’t need anything as supreme as Loveless, but just to hear some new mad genius noise of mbv fresh would be both a treat and totally fitting to what we’re living though.

If Kevin Shields could please, pretty please, release the My Bloody Valentine archives before Trump destroys the world, that would be awesome.

Do say how many β€˜British’ children Matt has. And let’s explore whether he’s had any challenges over fertility, etc, to decide whether he’s worthy of social honour or respect. He’s a cynical idiot.

It is indeed Bandcamp Friday. Today’s finds include new stuff from Roy Montgomery and @blackknoll.bsky.social (both of whom are always special), and also picked up some great DJ Metatron and Dalek albums.

Deadbeat not one I’m that familiar with, although can see they’ve done stuff with Echospace and Om Unit, both of whom are great. Any recommendations for good intro records?

Yep. Still waiting for it to arrive. Don’t do vinyl so needed a cd copy, which limits options. Glad to find a decent version.

Sorry to soil my timeline but this did make me laugh…you?
Took me a moment…

Greg Bovino was asked how he felt about his demotion today. "Well, obviously, I'm not happy", he replied. Someone in the crowd shouted back, "So which one are you?"
