Hopefully she recovers quickly! And hoping for some pics once everyone is safe and sound.
We have one of these in our emergency tote - thankfully we've never required it. With two first time moms due in about a month's time, I'd like our track record to continue.

I think I'd rather have more Orville than a Firefly reboot minus Wash.
After his Gamergate jackassery, I'm also not to enthused about Adam Baldwin. Granted, it seems he isn't part of Fillion's tease, at least yet.

There was a comic early on to tie up some additional bits of the series, including the "Hands of Blue."
I didn't find it particularly satisfying. It felt too much like a rapid checklist of loose ends, and lost the slow burn of the series.
Having lost some main characters also hurt the chemistry.

I really hope she becoming a recurring character, or even joins the main cast. I thought she added so much to the episode.
I also enjoyed her scenes with the other professors, really helped humanize them. Next time they should invite Professor [Tawny Newsome] along, too.

I don't like urban or metropolitan living, but my greatest fear with visiting cities is finding parking and the quantity of one-way streets.
Having lived near Boston and Baltimore, I can safely say the worst thing about them were the roads and drivers. :)

I was really hoping she'd be part of the main cast - maybe some day?
Reno's been my favorite part of Academy so far. I also have a soft spot for Trek aliens that push back their archetype without wholly rejecting it, and Kraag does this well. He's up there with Ch'Pok the Klingon lawyer.

Ella, our black cat, sleeps blissfully on the couch.
Ginger, our dog, is far less blissful about the small angry pointy cat leaning against her haunch. Even if she is asleep.

We're so lucky our cat doesn't have the phone number for The Hauge's ICoJ because we routinely shift our legs while she's sitting on our lap. Routinely. And sometimes we even get up and go elsewhere.

Penny Arcade comic where the narrator states:
Apparently, Verant offered RAM along with review copies of its new Everquest expansion, Shadows of Luclin. Well, so what? RAM is like $4.99, now. I got 512 megs in a box of Trix - and I threw it away!
This was snipped from their December 10, 2001 comic, Whateverquest.
I understand why LLM servers are sucking up the highest quality GPUs and RAM, but the fact it's now impacting such a broad range of components to impact general device manufacture really is a sign of how overextended this has gotten.
What devices are people supposed to use to access the slop?

I don't have a good ear for the technical side of music, but my guess is chord progression.
For a humorous demonstration of this . . .

I'm cisgender and straight but closest to "Queer Creative Community." Guess I keep good company!
I'm not too far from "Creative Professionals and Hobbyists," which feels accurate.
I'm so far away from "Video Game Industry Professionals." I intentionally downplay that here, so working as designed!

The (slow) move towards inclusivity reminds me of the TV "Rural Purge" in the 1970's, pivoting towards programs aimed at more urban (and younger) audiences.
Of course, a decade after the Rural Purge, a TV cowboy got elected president. These sorts of transitions don't happen overnight.

I'm very curious to see how SAM evolves over time. She's exuberant when learning new things, and currently /everything/ is new.

I enjoyed all of the DS9 moments.
I like the photonic situation, it's a great setup. But SAM herself is usually too much for me.
I'm going to be optimistic about the War College B-story and hope it signals a move towards resolving the rivalry and the worst of the show's frat elements.

Took you long enough, Randall Munroe has been drawing his figures in skimpy attire for years. To say nothing of the rampant nudity in Ryan North's Dinosaur Comics.

I get that the Solutrean hypothesis is the exact sort of tenuous coincidence that pseudoscience bigots cling to. But it really is a special sort of desperation to believe the ancient French got over here first.
(No offence intended to the French, the specifics of the hypothesis are just malarky.)

Portrait of Mr. Kluwe from the game Shadowrun Returns. He is an impeccably groomed troll with a nice suit, small tusks, and large horns. The character was in fact named for Chris Kluwe.
And a character in Shadowrun Returns is named after him.

If the Pope had a Kit Rae sword it wouldn't be Kilgorin "the Sword of Darkness." He'd have Luciendar "the Sword of Light" or maybe Cinthorc "the Sword of Justice." You need to take your photoshops more seriously. ;)

Former teacher here. US state curricula tend to be wildly overstuffed, which makes it difficult to fit in a lot of color. The 20th Century particularly suffers from this, albeit more so the latter half than the first.

I'm hoping after the basics are introduced, this pivots largely to "instilling Starfleet values while learning about the universe." The fact the campus is also a ship should help with that.
But I'm tempering my optimism here. Especially given how annoying I find most of the characters.

I think the Academy premise has potential.
But, if they want to reach a college-aged audience, maybe don't present college life through the eyes of 50 year old writers who watched too many frat movies in the 80s.
My son is in college, this has no appeal to him.
