The Most Chilling Detail in the U.S. Attack on an Iranian Naval Ship The Iranian warship was taking part in an international exercise with many other countries—including the United States.

This is a chilling crime. A shame on our country. The Iranian ship was unarmed. The US knew this. The sailors were murdered by our navy, and the survivors were left to die at sea.

Horrifying doesn't even begin to cover it. This is, legally and practically, torture. They will deny HRT even to those who can no longer produce their own sex hormones, which can and will have dire medical consequences. They will drive people to suicide.

MAJOR: Twin Cities Tenants joins five labor unions, together repping 25,900 members, to launch a rent strike drive, vowing to withhold rent March 1 if @governorwalz.mn.gov fails to deliver an eviction moratorium and rent relief. If launched, this would be the largest US rent strike in 100+ years.

Benito is a threat b/c he makes art so alluring and enjoyable you want to understand everything about it and then you end up learning about sugar and slavery and colonialism and the Taínos and Hawaii and then you probably have some thoughts of your own, and that's why art is powerful and dangerous

Filming ICE
TIPS FOR FILMING ICE
Because footage is only useful if it's usable.
1.    START RECORDING IMMEDIATELY
Don't wait for the "right" moment.
Livestream especially when encounters are tense, chaotic, or abusive. Live footage is harder to seize, edit, or dispute.
2.    HOLD YOUR PHONE HORIZONTALLY
Landscape captures more of the scene
- vehicles, agents, bystanders. Better for later review by attorneys, journalists, and investigators. Recording > perfect framing.
1. USE THE HIGHEST RESOLUTION AVAILABLE
High resolution helps with: Badge numbers, vehicle markings, facial recognition. If storage is limited, prioritize short, clear clips over long blurry ones.
2. FILM ACTIONS, NOT VULNERABLE PEOPLE Focus on:Agents' behavior, use of force, vehicles, license plates, agency markings
* 3. USE THE HIGHEST RESOLUTION AVAILABLE
High resolution helps with: Badge numbers, vehicle markings, facial recognition. If storage is limited, prioritize short, clear clips over long blurry ones.
* 4. FILM ACTIONS, NOT VULNERABLE PEOPLE Focus on: Agents' behavior, use of force, vehicles, license plates, agency markings
* 5. NARRATE BASIC FACTS CALMLY
* Say out loud: Date and time, location, what you are witnessing. Calm narration strengthens credibility.
* 6. KEEP A SAFE, LEGAL DISTANCE
* Do not interfere physically. Do not cross police lines. Film from public spaces where you're lawfully allowed to be. You have the right to record ICE in public.
* 7. STABILIZE THE SHOT
* Two hands if possible. Brace against a wall, car, or pole. Avoid rapid zooming or whipping the camera around. Clear footage beats dramatic footage.
* 8. BACK UP AND SHARE AFTER
* Save the video to your device. Upload copies to more than one platform. Share with trusted community groups, journalists, and legal orgs.
If ICE is present: record immediately, landscape if possible, high resolution, narrate calmly, don't expose detainees.

I just got tear gassed along with thousands of union members, many of whom had their families with them. Federal agents at the ICE facility tear gassed children. We must abolish ICE, DHS, and we must have prosecutions. I expect to see enforcement of our city code prohibiting the use of tear gas.
