Is anyone else annoyed by the term ‘cameraman’? It’s not that hard to just say ‘camera operator’ or, my personal favourite, ‘camo’

As soon as I left for work in mid October my wife put up our Christmas tree. I think there’s some kind of curse that befalls your house if it’s put up that early! 🤣

I always liked the modern day stuff in AC games but everyone complained so they minimised it. Now we’ll never get that side of the story resolved :-(

I was also quite active on the @PCPowerPlay forums until they closed. I even remember chatting to some of my internet friends from there about wanting to make a tv show about video games, before Youtube and shows like Good Game beat me to it!

I may be a bit late to the party, but RIP @PCPowerPlay! I collected that magazine from 2001 to 2007, and discovered so many great games and journos through it! I even had some of my early writing published (and written about in editorials)!

Every time @paxaus.bsky.social is on, I always want to go. And every time, I never do.

I always wonder how shops like this survive when everyone can just buy everything like this online for cheaper these days. Looks like my kind of store though so I hope it does well!

I went to a Meanjin writers camp when I was a kid in the 90’s. I remember being made fun of for wearing a camo shirt on the bus, but as soon as the other kids read my writing they changed their tune. First place I remembered feeling really accepted by my peers.

Yeah I hated getting up at 2am to get in to work on Sunrise every morning. Made it a pain to call in sick too because I was often awake earlier than my bosses. And the TD I was supposed to call instead never answered because they were too busy!

Me too. I’ve noticed I’m no longer getting the 5-10 second ads in YouTube. They’re all 30 seconds or longer and can’t be skipped. It’s like they’re trying to make me pay for it (which I refuse to do at such a ridiculous price).

If only this was available outside the US!
