Great stuff, Sean!
At the time it was built, Atlantic Chambers was described as being fitted out with all the latest features, like a passenger elevator going all the way to the top and electic lighting throughout!

If you're fed up with your work, it could always be worse. Spare a thought for this intrepid window cleaner, 6 floors up on the Central Hotel in Hope St, with only the steadying hand of his female colleague between him and oblivion.

This week's Friday pub is the Scotia Bar on Stockwell St. One of a few howfs laying claim to being Glasgow's oldest pub, it dates from 1792. In early years it was popular with workers & seamen from the docks & shipyards, and passengers from nearby ferries.

Consider me suitably intrigued, Shona...
I'm really looking forward to talking about my new novel, The Cromarty Library Circle, in Linlithgow, afternoon Wed 4th March. The book is actually being published under my own name, Shona. It's not a thriller maybe more of a social drama (is that a thing?)I mean, I'm not saying nobody dies ...

A wee blast of colour to brighten a gie dull Friday.
Lauder's bar dates dates to 1871, when it was owned by whisky maker Archibald Lauder. Back then, the building had seven bars, and a barber's shop downstairs, meaning you could get a haircut while getting half-cut!
A beautiful pin-sharp image of the old Glasgow Central cab office, photographed in 1936. I love the well-worn groove in the step up to the window and the finger pointing towards the hotel. That clock would look good on my wall π€

Cheers for the post, @errantmedia.bsky.social! Delighted to hear Cast a Cold Eye was up your street!
Very much enjoyed @robbiemorrison.bsky.social's Cast a Cold Eye. Historical fiction's a great direction for crime/noir. Layers a-plenty

Finally finished Heretic by @robbiemorrison.bsky.social and Charlie Adlard yesterday β what a glorious piece of work. Loved it.
