I agree bisexuals should be allowed to claim ownership of “lesbian” language again because “sapphic/wlw” is not as powerful but a lot of big lesbian voices online are completely unaware of how divisive/radfem separatism is for sapphic movement. I appreciate you sm! Hope you can extend some grace!
I believe the bisexuals (perhaps wrongly) hyperfocusing on “lesbian” being applied aren’t doing it out of lesbophobia, they’re paranoid that this is yet another instance of mainstream sapphic bisexual erasure so that bisexuals can continue to be referred to as heteronormative and privileged.
Hi Ophie, as a regular watcher I 100% see where you’re coming from, biphobia/lesbophobia are inherently linked. I wish more lesbians approached terminology like you, but in the 2020s with “sapphic/wlw” being popularised & record levels of biphobia/separatism/SWERFism, bisexuals are also on edge.
