A small wood carving of a tiny bird in golden brown perched on a branch, looking from right to left. There is a small branch protruding from that branch with two carved leaves. Above the bird are two further branches, one behind with four leaves, and one in front with two leaves. All of it is held between two scrolls of light wood, that form an oval around it. Held at the bottom by a finger and thumb. With a grey slate background.

Well it's done. So many hours gone. It's been the bane of my life for the last two weeks. So many broken branches! Hand carved from boxwood (bird and leaves) walnut (branches) and oak (scrolls).

Today we are launching a new intitative of Stand With Minnesotaβ€”KeepMNHoused.com, a rent-relief campaign backed with a $1.5 matching fund from the Wilson Foundation.

Thousands of MN families are at risk of eviction because of the ICE occupation’s lasting impacts. We can keep them housed.

Yes but keep an eye on anything vertical that depends on row height, like depth of neckline or armholes. If you’re not doing anything super specific with those, though, you should be good

Haulin Hoof Farm has mindblowingly cute buttons if you want ceramic critters or things (or wood) (or inspiration for making your own haha)

Techknitter for super deep explanations. Roxanne Richardson’s YouTube’s great for general knitting knowledge/mechanics or Modern Daily Knitting articles. Jen Paroccini/One Wild Designs or Sister Mountain for pattern design and fit things. Brooklyn Tweed has good articles/tutorials for some topics

Very unlikely. The numbers in this will be different than yours, of course, but you can see the process happening, maybe that will help clarify? m.youtube.com/watch?v=Gt1L...

Seriously, when I first saw people sharing this, the first thing I checked was the date, b/c I was sure it was an old article some folks had just discovered. But no.

Also Substack was transphobic as shit even before a lot of the Nazi stuff dropped (in 2023) & folks should've left it then.

Support Minneapolis Daycare Workers Contribute mutual aid to the educators and caregivers who love and care for our children everyday

One small thing you can do *right now* β€”Β donate $5, $10, $50, whatever you're able β€”Β to this rent fund for South Minneapolis daycare workers whose families are sheltering in place. Can we raise $5k today??

Whatever you can give matters. And if you can't give, can you share?

This is the second illustration I created for the exclusive collector's edition of Brooke Fast's To Cage a Wild Bird, available from Lithavenbooktique.
I think the dark and moody atmosphere contrasts nicely with the first cover design, which was light, airy and romantic.
