Oh my god, how didnβt I know this existed? (Nereid here)
@valkyriedragon
I enjoy things. Like #KingsQuest, #QuestForGlory, #Shantae, #ManiacMansion, #MonkeyIsland, #FinalFantasy, reading books and fanfics, knitting, swimming, listening to people talk about things they love, #History and research. Ramble at me as you will
Oh my god, how didnβt I know this existed? (Nereid here)
Iβm going to try it out and let you know how it works with my shit hearing
I just never got into 2 because I need subtitles. But I should try, it sounds great fun
Itβs cold and snowing outside. I want to stay in and read. I have games to play too.
This is incredible.
Same. Discworld was such a comfort for me.
Definitely. Lucky to live in an era with that kind of creativity.
Yes please, I absolutely love worldbuilding.
It is, good catch!
Yeah, I donβt even like public bathrooms. I go there, do my business and leave. I donβt even want to talk really
@ebornian.bsky.social Look!
Oh definitely. Itβs why I replay them regularly.
Thatβs why I donβt finish games much.
I had to buy a distraction device with more storage because I filled it up with books.
Despite my best efforts, sadly.
The world needs Granny Weatherwax.
#Discworld
I cried when Terry Pratchett died. #Discworld was such a big, wonderful part of my childhood.
Thatβs what I keep telling the doctors when they ask me about pain. Itβs not the same scale for me as someone with no disabilities.
This video does mention a finished remake of #KingsQuest IV, same graphics but a lot of other improvements. Seems like itβs the graphics update fan remakes that are cursed.
According to wikipedia V was the first VGA Kingβs Quest. But IV was more complex than I-III, with the day/night cycle, and sound card support
Customization in games really led to me not finishing things because I spend more time on character creation than actually playing, heh.
Then thereβs #HarvestMoon. I played so much of Mineral Town. It started me on loving farming games. #FieldsofMistria does scratch that itch very well though.
Now for some very different games. #AnimalCrossing, which I started with Wild World. I have way too many screenshots from New Horizons, heh. Iβm still surprised when I see Wild World screenshots these days. I remember the game as so beautiful. I think they had character.
Canβt forget how much I loved #Castlevania and #Metroid either. I was terrible at them, but I kept trying. Starting with Zero Mission and Simonβs Quest. I used to watch Letβs Plays and dream about getting my hands on more of the games.
Favorite tactics games. Loved the story so much. The other favorite is #TacticsOgre :Knight of Lodis. Never found anything else that scratched that itch quite as well. Iβd love to be able to play it again.
Canβt forget about #FinalFantasy either. The first one I played was IV, but the one that really caught me was VI. I cannot stop loving Terra Branford, itβs her I think of when I hear the name Terra.
And then I discovered Final Fantasy Tactics. Another one I played for hours. One of my twoβ¦
And Leaf Green, plus Silver and Gold, but my favorite still is Emerald.
Actually quite liked Sword and Shield too.
Then I discovered #FireEmblem, which Iβm not very good at, but loved nonetheless. Played it to pieces. Still have a very soft spot for Lyn.
I can go on about games for quite a while apparently. Console games here.
Now, my first #Pokemon game was Sapphire, Ruby and Emerald. Used to play at the physical therapistβs, while on the exercise bike. At one point I actually got a shiny Treecko while on that bike.
Later on I played Fire Red..
Than many of the first 3D graphics games. I thought they focused too much on looking fancy and not enough on mood, storytelling and character.
So Iβm really happy #IndieGaming is a thing, many are good at capturing the feeling I got from those old days.
