Under the SNP, three quarters of newly qualified teachers can’t get the full-time permanent contracts they need to pay the bills, or get a mortgage.
It’s absolutely brutal.
Many are being forced to work abroad, when they want to teach here, it’s a brain drain.
£300m of Lib Dem priorities secured in the budget. £178m for business rates relief for small businesses. £70m for colleges, a 10% uplift. Additional £20m for social care for fairer pay. Funding for hospices. Support for people with ADHD and autism. Peak fares on Northern Isles ferries scrapped. £2.5m to back young entrepreneurs. £5m more for the Investing in Communities Fund.
We promised that the Scottish Liberal Democrats would squeeze it for every penny to deliver for people across the country.
That is exactly what we have done.
The £300 million that we have secured in a whole host of areas shows just how serious we are about getting stuff done.

I grew up in Newburgh, and I love the communities that make up Aberdeenshire East, but I'm angry that we've been taken for granted. Jobs in our energy sector are being lost, and our public services are creaking. I want to fix that.
