2) I am close to a mini milestone on my newsletter, so I'll make that my focus for this week's promo.

It's been running for a year and a bit, once a month around the 15th. I didn't think I'd enjoy doing it, but I actually do! Here's what it is:

I haven't broken a bone yet. I only got a driver's license when I was ~35. (no disabilities, just hate driving & was broke) I've had the same day job for 25 years.

prince's new spirit-cat familiar safe in the palace and avert a diplomatic and theological uproar over her presence. There’s also wry humor, colorful characters*, a secret romance with a charming bath-house owner-slash-sorceror, and delicious food EVERYWHERE. 4/6

this one too. While they all take place in the same city and characters cross over, the stories all stand alone and interlock in interesting ways.

While Haroun and the Study of Mischief was a cross-city romp, Chai and Charmcraft is (among other things) a diplomatic puzzle: how to keep the 3/6

her works take place in a Middle Eastern-inspired fantasy setting where humans, catfolk, and various other beastfolk interact; the stories are warm and humane even when mischief is afoot.

As you might be able to tell, I loved the previous installments in this universe, & unsurprisingly, I loved 2/6

😭 I'm usually not one to play up the accent/slang, but this is a cute way to package useful info. I kinda love it. Bravo.

(I don't hate the accent, either. It exists like any other. No need to be weird about it. Though an *almost* accurate impression grates on my ears.)
