I understand people’s love of cats, I really do. They’re affectionate, soft, and can be good companions. I just wish people would keep them indoors or in catios or other enclosed outdoor spaces so they don’t kill wildlife. Birds, small mammals, and insects deserve a chance at life too.

A beautiful baby jack rabbit that was mercilessly killed by an outdoor cat. If you love your cat, keep it indoors

I’m torn. We tried to rescue this beautiful baby jack rabbit yesterday. An outdoor cat had been toying with it and I scared it off. Advice from wildlife rescue was to put it back out so its mom could find it. The same cat came back and killed it. Outdoor cats kill wildlife. It’s tragic and I hate it

A beautiful Coast Garter Snake on the edge of a trail near Coast Camp in Point Reyes National Seashore. Yellowish stripes run longwise down its body, with streaks of black and red scale patterns from head to tail. Taken on 1/31/2026

Just a neat danger noodle from my hike yesterday. iNaturalist says it’s a Coast Garter Snake, which makes sense since I was very close to the coast at the time. #snek #herps

Just check a nearby theater. Avatar, Marty Supreme, Iron Lung, Send Help, even two showings of Titanic. No Melanoma. Guess they didn’t want waste electricity on an empty theater.

I saw a bunch of Echo Azure butterflies. If you zoom in you can see their cute faces with big black eyes. The tops of their wings (the part that isn’t visible when their wings are closed) is a beautiful light blue. #insects #butterflies
