Peter Košovan @sciencecharles.bsky.social and I @cam.ac.uk have looked at the uptake of peptides by polyelectrolyte brushes. Combining molecular simulations, mean-field calculations and analytically solvable theory we provide a complex picture of the underlying physics: doi.org/10.1021/acsm...

We use computer simulations and analytically solvable theory to study supercoiled DNA plasmids functionalized by pH-responsive groups. We show how charge annealing can reversibly switch the topological twist to writhe and vice versa.
