So sick!
So sick!
I think I'm done reading ensemble cast-style comics for a bit (your team ups and your big ol' event with the fellas stories). Bit burnt out on the slow progress big guy wars of it all. Give me that street-level, walk-and-talk kind of story again.

Found a solve for my mini obsession with wanting to always be building gunpla (but not actually starting): Armored Core 6.
Time to lock in
"FUGUE" by Raccoon City. Definitely my Screamo album of the year, but also my most listened overall. Sometimes I'll run it back a couple times in one sitting.

"Wocket Launcher Presents.. Wocket Launcher: The Compilation, A Compilation by Wocket Launcher" by Wocket Launcher. Look... I worked at Hot Topic in the 2010s. It's just what you do. There's a couple skips on here honestly, but I tolerate them for vibes.

"In the Earth Again" by Chat Pile & Hayden Pedigo is an album that I will definitely come back to again and again. There's a lot of depth in every song. More than anything I think this album takes it's time. A wonderful collab.

"The Spiritual Sound" by Agriculture. I'll buy anything from Agriculture. It's always a treat. Heartfelt dissonance is the driver here, crushing in a lot more than just the loud and sad way.
agriculturemusic.bandcamp.com/album/the-sp...
"Ash Souvenir" by Ragana & Drowse. I feel like this one is off a lot of lists because it's a fairly short EP. But it's damn good. The collab is not to be missed.
ragana.bandcamp.com/album/ash-so...
"Megamantra" by Black Magnet rips! It's heavy guitar-industrial in the best way. Just brutal stuff. For fans of mid-career Ministry, Uniform, and any crushingly loud industrial album. Lots of bangers on this one.
blckmgnt.bandcamp.com/album/megama...
"Who Let The Dogs Out" by @lambrinigirls.bsky.social Lambrini Girls is just good punk. Raw, mean (positive), and so real. I love this album.
lambrinigirlsband.bandcamp.com/album/who-le...
"hexed!" by Aya is a wild harsh electronic album with a hell of a lot of depth. For fans of PAN label artists, Eartheater, and maybe some Pharmakon.

Checking out a couple year end lists for music -- here are some choice picks IMO (thread)
Wait, they go 7-11 Gunpla? Alright, it was kind of joke before but now....
Oh yeah definitely, I think a full-read will help with some of the little touches.
I missed "Demon Summoner Gash Gash", looks wild! haha
DANG lots of bangers this year! Some cool stuff in there I missed / will definitely check out. Only thing missing that was high on my list was: "Resurrection Man: Quantum Karma", which I did not expect to stick with me as much as it did.
guess it's time to get really into gunpla?
New at @comicsjournal.bsky.social: A decade ago, Katie Pryde and her shop BOOKS WITH PICTURES began championing diversity in comics retail with the motto "Comics for Everyone." Now, she talks her near-miss with financial crisis, what she's learned, and what the future the holds.
Iβm looking for cover work. More samples can be found on my website. admancartoonist.com/covers-splas...
Let me know how it is! The cover always catches my attention, but I haven't pulled the trigger yet.
Oh yeah, that's like more than half the reason you go haha
π― - Reminds me of Mamaleek mamaleek.bandcamp.com/album/come-a...
Oh no. You know what? I had a really good time at the movies during the last one. I don't know if it was good or not, but I enjoyed my day out at the theater.
People were not joking about that Geese album from this year, huh? That thing is wild (positive)
Color of the End: wonderfully realized post-apocalypse manga that dives into loneliness and what it means to be exempt from a mass catastrophe. Also a cute library robot... so...
Volume 3 is out this week from Yen Press
Watching Friendship and then The Chair Company this year has been a real treat. I Think You Should Leave was not for me when I tried it last year, but.... yeah, I was probably wrong about that one...

Book cover for the YA book ICEBREAKER by A.L. Graziadei showing the two male main protagonist facing each other and holding onto each others collar.
Digital art of my original characters Aran and Tao as young adults out at night in their local nyc neighborhood kissing. Tao sits on a bicycle and Aran bends down slightly to kiss him.
Mock cover of Suzanne Samin and my upcoming graphic novel. The title still r wads Fear Of Falling but we changed it now to Wherever Iβm With You. The cover shows a brick house fall and Aran and Tao sitting on the rooftop, their legs dangling down the edge, and in big letters underneath them it reads βfear of fallingβ
Digital art of original characters Aran and Tao as young teenagers on a hot summer day walking down the streets in their local nyc neighborhood and playing around with a basketball.
