I was good until you said 40. Am I really that old π³

Not golden, beige π
Tawny Pinion! Nice record Alan, only ever had the one and before I appreciated that theyβre not a common species
And panic levels if itβs a good moth
Maybe a little on the large side. I think contacting the CMR would be a good idea but heβll probably ask if you retained it
lol Iβve gone the other way after a fumbled pot, record shot first then pot! All down to personal choice π
Iβd quite happily give away the Orthosia part of the catch π
Should be doable, keep trapping ππ»
The mini Merv!
A decent shout from the Prof, what size is it and did you retain it?
Theyβre a great moth, lovely markings, though from the front this one looks like an angry Ewok π
I think youβre always about 2 weeks ahead of me on the moth calendar. Itβs them shorter summery bits that you have oop north βοΈπ₯Ά
Same policy in this house π
Donβt let your wife see. Have you admitted how many lures you have squirrelled away???
That looks more promising, I was worried the Facebook algorithm was going to assume I was a desperate 20 something male π«£
You still not had one, they are definitely spreading so surely this year?
Slipped my mind π€£π€ͺ
Canβt seem to find it π€·π»ββοΈ
Plenty of fish lure groups or dodgy groups about pheromone seduction π³
Nope, Iβll wonder over there. What the feck was the βarseβ lure? Sounds like a nickname I would give it π€£
A real hot bed for the moths is Sway! I wonder whatβs next?
Might have to put a request in for a bigger freezer π€π»ππ»
Probably helps adding #teammoth
I think Iβve more chance of getting hit by a flying kipper than catching that moth. So Iβll be placing an order for the lure π€ͺ
#mothfacefriday Yellow Horned, named because it has these erm, yellow horns. Not the most creative bunch the entomologists, especially when it comes to names π
Ahh fair enough, but the FUN, MOL and ARG lures will catch other stuff as well. A barred tooth-striped lure, whatβs that one? (I might have it already but then I have so many lures)!
Definitely a March/April moth for me so about right. 09/03 was the first record last year
Iβve not had many but hantsmoths website shows them to be quite varied so Iβd be happy with both as mucronella www.hantsmoths.org.uk/lep.php?code...
