Okay then I'm sharing a screenshot of a screenshot of a screenshot.

It's a paradox.

Communication and computer technology makes it such that individuals - both in private and work life - have the tools to administer and manage themselves more than ever before.

Yet in every domain of life we see more administrators and managers.

What are they doing?

Here is how I understand Trump's appeal...

I agree that all this money in college sports is ridiculous.

A real politician would follow some legislative process. Trump might just break all the rules to fix the situation.

This can be very appealing if you want the same thing he does.

Is it phony to go and socialize because you know intellectually it's what you are supposed to do but you personally gain no pleasure from it?

Asking for a friend.

What strikes me is that 30 years from now after the fall of the "First American Reich" historians across the world will be asking: how did this liberty and freedom loving people, with their Declaration of Independence and all...let this happen?

Basically the same things we ask about Germany now.

Because I am not in the sociology bubble, it's possible I can see things others in my profession don't.

The research in total is too tied to progressive political causes.

This should be a piece of the total research output, but it is almost the entire pie.

I realize my water bottle, which I bought because it looked "different", looks like a flask of alcohol.

We have a formal partnership with Motorola. A subset of future Motorola devices will meet all our requirements and provide official GrapheneOS support which they'll be helping us implement and maintain instead of us having to do a huge amount of additional work. It will start with flagships.

@grapheneos.org just signed a deal with Motorola?

Would be nice to have a budget phone that can take advantage of Graphene's privacy functions.

Thank you for responding and clarifying.

Your company has generated a lot of good will over the years.

An insider's guide to the innovation ecosystem - ePODstemology  Innovation is crucial for improving quality of life and clearing away ossified and unhelpful ways of doing and being, like fossil fuel capitalism. So how do we get it moving? The innovation ecos...

New episode of ePODstemology!

Halima Jibril from the Warwick Business School joins us to discuss the innovation ecosystem.

One of my main learnings: Innovation requires a lot of tenuously networked physical infrastructure!

The psychologists might call this "deindividuation" and "disinhibition", or something along those lines.

Once you identify with a group and feel anonymous, your basest instincts come out.

It is enlightening because in those situations we get a truer sense of the inner sentiments of a person.

But okay @kagi.com small web, I'll play with you for a little while.

Complimentary Wi-Fi in a hotel is not a selling point. You might as well be saying you're offering complimentary toilet paper.

BTW the Washington Plaza Hotel in DC is horrible.

What hotel puts the coffee maker beside the toilet, mounts a 19-inch TV on a wall, and has no USB connections?

BREAKING: Former Marine Sgt. Brian McGuinness stood up in Congress to say what millions of Americans are thinking: We don't want to fight a war with Iran for Israel.
Security dragged him out and broke his arm. Veterans are speaking out.

Bill to require factual teaching about U.S. Capitol attack clears Virginia General Assembly

I will never support a push from legislators requiring teachers to teach a certain thing a certain way...even if I am politically aligned.

I'm really over the algorithmic feeds of Instagram and Facebook.

Give me old fashioned curated content where some learned or experienced person selects what they think are the most important stories.

In listening to an audiobook written by a historian about the Civil Right Movement, I was struck by how valuable this class of people are.

Imagine if there were no professional historians.

There would be no way, save time travel, of knowing with some validity what happened during this time.

European companies are now the standard bearers of individual liberties and personal freedoms.

They know this, and can use it as a marketing tool.

Wondering when the label "plus" will be applied to things other than streaming services.

Weird how a pitcher goes on the mound and immediately throws nothing but balls.

Was he throwing strikes in the bullpen and then forgot how to do it when he got on the mound?

Or was he throwing balls in the bullpen and just said "oh what the hell I'll figure it out when it counts"?

The tragedy of AI is that you are only limited in what you can ask it to do by your background knowledge of a topic, but the use of AI severely hampers the accumulation of that knowledge.

I don't think I could ever own a dog again, because I don't want to be the alpha in the relationship.

I just want to be buddies, I don't want to tell them what to do.

Few phenomena illustrate the impact of environment more than the Dominican Republic dominating professional baseball.

They are expected to win the WBC over Japan and the US.

If one is born in the DR, the chances of becoming a professional baseball player are that much greater.
