We present a novel analysis method to quantify task-related, anticipatory cardiac deceleration which takes tonic heart rate oscillations due to respiratory sinus arrhythmia into account. Our results ...
Our latest work on respiratory and non-respiratory contributions to the Anticipatory Cardiac Deceleration (ACD) is out! ๐ซ๐ซ
As suspected, respiration accounts significantly to the ACD via respiratory HRV, but it seems that it does not fully explain it! [1/2]

Towards gender equality in scientific organizations: assessment and recommendations - International Science Council
Academies of science, medicine and engineering, along with international scientific unions, play an important role in shaping scientific agendas, recognizing scientific excellence, and advising policy...
Positive news is that progress in gender equality is real. But as someone looking back on years of single parenting (and the sneaking cumulative effects that has on a CV) this strongly resonates: โWomen are โฆ 4.5 times more likely to miss opportunities due to care responsibilitiesโ.

#MSCA success rates now below 10%, yet the work that goes into writing this application is immense. Beyond the obvious increase in funding we need to find ways to lighten the time investment as well. Thousands of researchers spend weeks if not months working on this.

Neuropsychopharmacology - Females have shorter scalp-to-cortex distances and receive stronger TMS electrical fields: Implications for clinical treatment
Biological sex impacts TMS intensity because โ๏ธ typically have shorter scalp-to-cortex distances than โ๏ธ
While these differences are widespread, they are absent in the motor cortexโthe site usually used to determine clinical dosage
