I havenβt found the ag community here either. I think a lot of farmers happily remained Ion Twitter when a lot of us decided to go elsewhere
Well of course they are. Treason is fine as long as you agree with the horrible morals of why they were treasoness
This was less of a monopoly and more of new ownership screwing up a good thing that spurred more innovation. Hopefully the numbers keep growing
Agreed. I remember having robust discussions about GMOs, CRISPR and all sorts of deep science on Twitter. I grieved the loss of that broad discussion where experts would magically join the conversation. But this is definitely the best of the options out here for now
That seems like something the @lincolnproject.us could easily handle if the dems donβt
Have been paying attention to all the birds I share space with using the Merlin app that I have thanks to @birdsoftheworld.bsky.social (also have the book). And now I am worried this young downy woodpecker is out hopping around my lawn. Doesnβt seem it can fly but talons good for climbing.
Also I am asking April to let me know if Michael takes her up on the combine karaoke cause I will sing whatever with April. www.facebook.com/april.hemmes...
My enduring love of Michael Barbaro at The Daily podcast has just grown 3 sizes.... he has a friend on the show today! Iowa farmer April Hemmes and she talks about what all she has done over time working on trade and why the tariffs worry her www.nytimes.com/2025/04/24/p... #farming #agriculture
Just heard someone say βhe sounds like he spends a lot of time on Facebookβ and hooo boy everyoneβs immediate understanding of what that means should be a brand crisis for Meta

I know resistance is futile on this stuff. Buying bundles makes sense but then we all know as more of us bundle, the price rate begins creeping up. But that accounting totally makes sense. I have a Sonos system and for some reason Sonos and Spotify gel but Apple Music doesnβt. Love Sonos speakers
If you are into growing a #backyardgarden & vegetables, I highly recommend you sign up for emails at wesowwegrow.org
Just got one that walks through water availability & management that is great! While there, feel free to offer up a donation or even better a monthly support for the work they do.
There we go. Support this man.
This wasβ¦.five months ago
he's still been going... folks went to work, worked an entire day and headed for home and @booker.senate.gov @corybooker.com is still going strong! The back and forth on questions is really something. Love him jokign about the power he's wielding as he calls Mark Kelly out for EWR signs LOL
Strom Thurmond stood in the way, anger can get in the way, and we the people have the power to move this country in the right way. We need 3-4 senators to find the strength to call their party to task & vote their conscious rather than bend to the demigods and the fear
The way Cory Bookerβs shifting his weight cause after 13 hours he is exhausted. He is right thatβs the exhaustion I have been feeling for weeks. Thanks @corybooker for making it clear we are being heard.
The way the US government keeps asserting they are doing good work and refuse to see any details. First it was pardoning everyone arrested due to January 6. It is happening across the gov cuts and the deportations and more. It shows a total disregard for human rights, for the legal system, etc.
I've seen & heard more talk about starting gardens (or restarting them) this year than for a while. If you are looking for resources, check out WeSowWeGrow. You want to be ready for hornworms. Things are evil! Sign up for email too. wesowwegrow.org/lets-talk-ho... #backyardgarden #gardening
Let me know when you figure that out cause I have needed a move like that before
If that agency works in a space where they needed people in agriculture to trust them, it could get ugly fast. Because people know the details. And overlooking details usually conveys a problem of some kind.
Watching TV and a @target ad and gotta do a
#FactCheck. The ad shows a woman pick a dragonfruit from a tree. Problem is dragonfruit grows on a cactus. I bet nobody had any idea that lots of fruit & vegetables have distinctive appearance on farms. But it definitely matters if you work in ag.
We donβt have a dragon fruit class but we talk about specialty crops groundedinag.com/specialty and generally would recommend not assuming what plants look like. And we help direct you to good resources. #themoreyouknow #agriculture #discovery #curiosity
Itβs about how legal immigrants from various worn torn parts of the world are starting new lives & new businesses in cities like STL. And how it benefits everyone.
But things are shifting & new challenges are arising. This story likely challenges preconceptions. I ask you listen with an open mind.
Was listening to podcasts as I ran errands & as this story started, they donβt read the headline & I didnβt have it up on the screen. I thought that sounds like us, like the St Louis metro.
And then it came, her story was about the Lou & our growth plan.
