The main difference between exact sciences and humanities is between prediction and interpretation. If we transform text to numbers we lose the possibility of interpretation, so historians need to understand this process in order retain the freedom to interpret.
As history scientists, after WW II, bridged to the research world of other social sciences employing their methods, nowdays they have the opportunity to reach for exact sciences and use mathematical language in their work.
. It is a step forward from the history research augmented by computer science as the digital history now stands, it shows how the philosophy of machines influences the study of digital history. The book provides the prompts that can be used to converse with AI tools.
