ok I stand corrected on (1); the example shows the additional .commit() after .execute(). Could still be more explicitly stated though ๐

apparently aiosqlite's connection context manager doesn't autocommit, unlike sqlite3...
1) this isn't mentioned anywhere on the README
2) at least one PR fixing this (#312) has been awaiting a maintainer response since April 2025

apparently the rumours have been partly debunked, but the fact that many believe them certainly says something about our dear Microslop
also never in my life did I ever think about the words "subscription-based" and "operating system" together :(
Heartwarming: Microsoft finally ends "every other windows version sucks" curse by releasing two fucking awful OS' in a row!

A micro mineral specimen of dark blue lustrous Clinoclase forming prismatic crystals on a soft botryoidal green Cornwallite. This specimen comes from Pershing County, Nevada.
Happy #MineralMonday y'all! I bestow upon thee a fine micro specimen of vibrant blue Clinoclase on green botryoidal Cornwallite. Both minerals are copper arsenates so don't lick them!

in minecraft modding news, I recently received a bug report about my mod breaking when there's more than 277 other mods together with it.
what's a "prefix of a list"?
sorry, not very familiar with the terminology + google isn't being very helpful
the comments are beautiful
For the purposes of this CAPTCHA, please consider the wheels on the bus unconnected from the concept of wheels, round and round, or bus. Please choose all the buses in this single picture of a bus. NO NOT THE WHEELS, YOU ROBOT.
I tried to take a photo of a grasshopper on my windshield, but now it looks like a gigantic bug destroying the town.
not strictly on topic but every time I see one of these I'm sorely disappointed that it's not an actual book
update: I HATE the ribbon cable on the front plate.
anyway it works! time to play halo
oops, should've put a title!
"how to overthink things: wifi problems edition"
spoiler alert: the problem was really simple
Misc points I couldn't work into the word count:
- I'm not sure why ethernet wasn't affected by the heat. Maybe it was, but less perceptibly? Download/upload speed wasn't very different...
- The AP is passively cooled
- It's a router whose only purpose is to be an AP
Turns out the towel it was sitting on was blocking the vents on the bottom, overheating it.
I'm not sure why this didn't happen previously, given that it's been on the towel for the better part of a year (maybe the towel moved?), but anyway, I propped it up and it's been fine for a few weeks.
In the interim, I decided to connect everything to the router by cables. When I put my hand on the AP to disconnect it, I thought, "oh wow, that's hot."
"Wait a minute..."
I turned off the AP and let it cool down (I had only power cycled it previously)...
Lo and behold, it worked perfectly.
My second thought was some aircrack-ng tomfoolery. Unfortunately, none of the network adapters in my devices support monitor mode, so I KIV'd that for when I got an external one.
My first thought was interference from our new neighbours' AP. As it happens, there's a fair amount going on, but my AP is literally right in front of me and was beating out all the other signals by a very large margin, so that probably wasn't it.
so my wifi had been acting really strange since the beginning of the year... it worked ok, except that it would disconnect you after 20 seconds or so. more recently, it started giving "incorrect password" messages for the indisputably (verified by independent third-party) correct password. (thread)
Wanna sell me a cheap 3d card?
ah ok
