Trumpβs war is messing with the fallout from Trumpβs tariffs, which is messing from the fallout from Trumpβs war on clean energy
Planet SkySat imagery today shows smoke rising from Shahid Bahonar port in Iran and a vessel on fire. The vessel alight has a visible launch pad similar to Kordestan and Makran in the analysis below and matches features seen in Google Earth imagery of Makran in Jan. 2024 . bsky.app/profile/cove...

CNN: State Dept urges US citizens to "DEPART NOW" from countries throughout Middle East
Two days into the war:
- three F-15s shot down
- U.S. embassy in Saudi Arabia in flames
- six U.S. service members confirmed dead; more wounded
- State Department tells Americans to flee the entire Middle East
I've never seen anything like this before.
There are currently at least 14 (fourteen!) KC-135R Stratotankers on their way to the Middle East. Inbound from bases across the United States.
They're used to refuel other aircraft in the air.
Chris Murphy: "There is 0 history of an air strike campaign alone toppling a dictatorship and transitioning a country to democracy. We know that air strikes do not knock out Iran's nuclear capability. Why? Because we did air strikes last year. President Trump lied to the American public."
Indispensable for verifying info coming out of the Middle East. Go check it out.

While it is true that early on this technology encountered plenty of challenges, it is developing rapidly. A lot of the previous week's news are no longer true today. Is it possible that the Dutch DPA is basing their opinion on obsolete signals? #GDPR
Ukrainian drones flew 1,700 km to strike a Lukoil refinery in Ukhta, near the Ural Mountains, setting a new distance record for the war. Previous records at Orsk were hundreds of kilometers shorter.

Over the summer, dozens of people went missing at Gazaβs Zikim crossing, where Israeli forces routinely gunned down Palestinian aid seekers.
Weβve now found evidence suggesting they bulldozed some of the people they killed into shallow, unmarked graves.
My latest covering some of the strikes using US-made munitions used in Gaza.
Typically 500m distances are given in Lebanon. 100m is much lower than several different standards or measurements for a safe distance of a 2,000 pound bomb, including a USMC "danger close" standard.

MK-84 2,000-pound bomb with a JDAM kit hitting a building in Gaza after an IDF notice.
Bellingcat recently asked the IDF about the lack of evacuation distances in public evacuation notices in Gaza, which are included in notices in Lebanon, so interesting to see a 100m distance in the notice here.
Cambodian Mine Action Center (CMAC) cleared two unexploded MK-82 500-pound bombs they say were dropped in December 2025. One of the bombs has a M905 tail fuze which is visibly damaged.
This is probably a Skat Shell fired at a high angle. A Skat Shell dispenses four different submunitions when fired that each emit smoke or chemical irritant.
So excited for this. It is a great story and happy to be part of it. www.bellingcat.com/news/2025/12...

1/ In recent months, we began documenting remnants of an unknown Israeli munition being used in Gaza. Its use has allegedly resulted in civilian casualties. To date, Israel has not publicly declared the munitionβs existence.

The Bar was first reported to have been used by the IDF in August 2024, and the IDF released video showing multiple Bar missiles being fired by a Lahav.

First visual evidence of a Romach/Accular 122mm or Bar missile I've seen in Gaza. These are 122mm rockets that have been upgraded with guidance. This is likely the Bar, as it is an upgrade over the Romach and has improved accuracy.
Something to note on the Nasser Hospital attack β there's a direct line of sight to the Reuters livestream position to a large IDF excavation northeast of the hospital. The livestream had even filmed what appear to be two IDF tanks moving in the area on Aug 21: www.youtube.com/live/uN78d9M...
