Have your say on a 30km/h city speed limit proposals for Cork city It is now time for the public to have their say on proposals for lower speed limits in Cork city, says Cllr PETER HORGAN, Chair of the Transport ...

We agree with @horganp.bsky.social. The streets where we live are not just routes for traffic; they are places where children walk to school, older people cross to the shop, and communities meet.

Ok. You're right. But why stop at cyclists? Let's make pedestrians wear high-vis and helmets too! It's safer right? Actually, let's make absolutely everyone wear high-vis and helmets at all times everywhere (except people in cars obviously!) so people driving cars feel better

The Irish Cycling Campaign will be appearing before the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Transport today.
The focus today is on Road Safety.
We look forward to discussing the importance of a public health-led, safe systems approach to road danger reduction.

Yesterday, we were at the Mansion House visiting Lord Mayor Ray McAdam to give him a very special bike.

It’s the 1,000th bike rebuilt by the awesome crew of The Bike Hub UpCyclers programme.

TBH volunteer Gary officially presented the bike.

"I reject any stereotyping of cyclists": Irish prime minister condemns judge's 'nightmare cyclists' comments, as Labour makes formal complaint to judicial standards body The Taoiseach's comments join a chorus of dismay following judge James O'Donohue's remarks in civil court during a case which saw damages paid to an injured cyclist reduced by 80%

So a judge says "Cyclists have become a nightmare in Dublin?"

Actually cycling is much more of a nightmare rather than cyclists. We need to focus on making walking and cycling safer on our streets.
