Quietly, calmly and forensically, BBC just dismantled the Trump communications shitshow on Iran.
No hyperbole, just laying out an unprecedented military, diplomatic and reputational shambles.
Worth a watch.

If you haven't yet changed how you teach and evaluate thanks to AI, you probably need to. This is not something that educators asked to happen, but it is worth noting what is out there - in this case an OpenClaw tool designed to cheat.

Book cover. A silhouette of a person's head filled with colorful geometric shapesβperhaps symbolizing cognitive resources or deployment thereof. The style is attractive and modern, if generic.
text:
The Rational Use of Cognitive Resources
Falk Lieder, Frederick Callaway, Thomas L. Griffithts
I'm excited to announce that I had my first (co-authored) book published today! "The Rational Use of Cognitive Resources" with Falk Lieder and Tom Griffiths (@cocoscilab.bsky.social ). You can read it for free! (see thread)

Episodic memory facilitates flexible decision-making via access to detailed events - Nature Human Behaviour
Nicholas and Mattar found that people use episodic memory to make decisions when it is unclear what will be needed in the future. These findings reveal how the rich representational capacity of episod...
Our experiences have countless details, and it can be hard to know which matter.
How can we behave effectively in the future when, right now, we don't know what we'll need?
Out today in @nathumbehav.nature.com , @marcelomattar.bsky.social and I find that people solve this by using episodic memory.

It won't actually exist for another month or so, but because it now 'exists' on amazon, I'll humbly observe that, after working through this book, your student/trainee would be able to read and understand all but two or three papers in this week's J. Neurosci. Check it out:

I made a quirky little web app to help guide your lucid dreams: context-lab.com/dream-stream/
It's kind of like a "netflix" or "spotify" for lucid dreaming-- you select different narratives to form a playlist, and then it uses your device's microphone to start playing when it detects you're in REM.

I've been thinking about this too! What I'm imagining doing for my own courses is:
- programmer thinking
- design
- testing (a little debugging but mostly designing appropriate and comprehensive tests)
- vibe coding tools and workflows
- much more sophisticated/deep assignments than "before"

I may be a *little* biased but this π is GREAT! If you ever found language structure interesting, but were turned off by implausible and overly complicated accounts, this book is 4U: a simple and empirically grounded account of the syntax of natural lgs. A must-read for lang researchers+aficionados!
