Tweet of a tumblr post from user three-sugars-pls. It reads as follows: wish everyone would admit that classic literature is inherently difficult to read, and that you shouldn’t feel stupid if you don’t “get it”. Especially the dark academia/ classic lit fandoms and stuff. Like unless you have the vocabulary and pop culture knowledge of an 18th century nobleman, it’s going to be a tough read. It’ll take you longer to read; you’re not stupid if you’ve spent several months on a single book! And you don’t have to enjoy everything. It’s okay if you got bored after one chapter of Wuthering Heights, and couldn’t be bothered to read the rest. It’s okay if you want to read your favourite kids book for the 10th time instead. You’re not stupid. No piece of literature is inherently better, more “important”, more “meaningful”, or more “intellectual” than another. First and foremost, read what brings you joy. The tweet above the screenshot reads: booktwt are you listening.
Okay I need 2 say something. I’ve been online long enough to see a lot of discourse cycles about anti-intellectualism like the one sparked by this post. I want 2 highlight an aspect of these debates that I find to be frustratingly under-discussed: the rhetorical position of children’s literature. 1/
whenever I go get my bangs trimmed at the beauty school the students always compliment how well my bangs sit without having to style them 😌 I’m getting a good grade in having hair, a thing that is both normal to want and possible to achieve
As the sole tenure-line Jewish Studies faculty at one of the institutions on this list, I will say it now: Not in my name. This makes me less safe, and it makes our students less safe. We should work to make our campus safer for our Jewish students, but we should not comply with these demands.
"I just don't understand how our country is like this now, this has never been who we are."

I actually haven’t seen any of the best picture-nominated movies this year so Kinds of Kindness, Flow, and Nosferatu win best picture in my heart 💖
I’m sorry but how stupid do you need to be to not comprehend what is happening in Beloved
A cat stands on its hind legs in front of a TV (and a very messy shelf of DVDs and books)
Freya will not take her eyes off the screen when we are watching Severance
it is!! I actually smelled it for the first time at the age of like 13 in a Sephora and I have been thinking about it ever since lol, I figured now that I have adult money it was time to treat myself :,)
notes for Indigo on the left and Lychee Rose on the right! basically Indigo is the ideal vibe for a rainy winter day and Lychee Rose for a bright summer one :)
the results of my experiment btw
perfect little girl 💖
the demon core got me…
in this lifetime, though… simply an English major who’s about to smell so good
one of my goals this year is to become one of those people who can smell a perfume and identify what the different notes are and I’m learning a lot already!!
I got a perfume sample discovery kit a few weeks ago and trying them all out one by one and taking notes on my impressions and how long they last is really satisfying my inner urge to conduct experiments
I would go to school if this was the teacher (wikipedia), thisi was the uniform (whale tail screenshot from wikipedia), This was the bus (popemobile), this was the book (list of fictional worms)
seconded!!
ZOODLE MY BELOVED!!! your brother Harvey misses you 💖

HEADLINE: CDC posts, then deletes, data on bird flu spread between cats and people. The data which appeared fleetingly online on Wednesday, confirmed transmission in two households.
It is evident the CDC is being muzzled SO let’s talk about what YOU can do to PROTECT yourself AND your pets. 🧪🧵 ⬇️
