I’m just happy to be here Full time digital nomad, RVer, lover of photography, hiking, and our amazing national parks. Proud to be a Kentucky girl. Always down to plan a road trip. Still an optimist. We are stronger when we work together. πŸ‘Š #nky #cincy

To me, it seems like stocking up before a hurricane is a little more legitimate than panic buying before a snow storm.

Are frozen chicken tenders a popular panic buying item, like they seem to be in Cincinnati? πŸ˜‚

I was in AmeriCorps back in college. This administration doesn’t understand anything but a financial balance sheet. The find no value in anything but money and power. Compassion, service, & beauty are meaningless to these hollow shells of human beings. πŸ˜”

πŸ˜‚ It shows the difference between reflexive panic buying & actual preparation. I am currently spending a few months in a very rural area of Kentucky. There aren’t many plow trucks in rural roads & if you live off a dirt road, you’re on your own. People here stocked up on propane.

I think that’s a very good possibility. What a wonderful thing the CCC was! I wish our leaders would have the vision for something like this today.

I’m sure it was. The funny thing is, this is a suburb of a decent sized city. The longest it takes to plow the roads, even for a big storm, is a day or two. People panic buy like they’re pioneers out on the prairie who will have to survive until the spring thaw. πŸ™‚πŸ™ƒ

The bread isle and frozen food section at a Cincinnati, Ohio, grocery before the last big snow storm. Apparently everyone was planning to survive on chicken nuggets & sandwiches. Is the crazed grocery run just a Midwest thing?

It is a beautiful place. The first photo is of the Grand Hotel. The island is famous for having no motorized vehicles (other than emergency vehicles) permitted on the island.

I always wanted to get out of Kentucky when I was growing up and go somewhere β€œexciting”. Now my husband and I are living in an RV and could travel anywhere and I find myself in Kentucky. We’re staying near Red River Gorge. It’s a beautiful place if you ever make that trip back

After reading all the restaurant stories around the #thecampfire this morning. I ended up heading out to breakfast. There aren’t a ton of restaurant options in little Beattyville, KY, but we do have Herman’s Brew.

There were a lot of tales of food and restaurants around #thecampfire yesterday. I’m reading the stories with my coffee. It’s all making me very hungry πŸ˜†

I missed #thecampfire entirely yesterday, so I’m sitting out here in front of the coals with my morning coffee…and now I’m hungry

You’re making me tear up over my morning coffee. What a beautiful tribute to your sister! And what role models of strong, independent compassionate woman you both are.

I relate to all of this, except for us it was Perkin’s.

As a Kentucky girl, this post brings back so many memories. I was always so jealous of my neighbors when the Schwan’s truck would arrive. My very frugal mother would never pay for such luxuries. πŸ˜† West Virginia is a beautiful state. Maybe a close 2nd to Kentucky πŸ˜‰

Fantastic photo! I love looking at my family’s old family photos. As far as pretending to be something your not, for the next #thecampfire maybe I’ll tell the story of the time I let someone talk me into telling people we were accomplished horseback riders. We were absolutely not. πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ
