HB 1046 is common sense and protects parental rights and our children. It requires a school to notify a parent or guardian if Child Protective Services are contacted after suspected abuse at school or a school-sponsored activity.

Working hard in Annapolis. Today included meetings with organizations, students, and advocates, a floor debate, 5 hours of bill hearings, including my own for HB 912, an Energy Huddle and a subcommittee meeting. I will be back at it again tomorrow.
I appreciate the opportunity to speak with "Spotlight on Maryland" reporter Brooke Conrad and Fox Baltimore about my legislation crossfiled with Senator JB Jennings to amplify the voice of Marylanders who rely on DDA services. We also spoke about the DDA budget and the sustainability of the program.
Today is Developmental Disabilities Day in Annapolis. I have always fought to ensure our residents and their families have the supports they need. HB 1593 will ensure those receiving DDA services have an opportunity to make have their voices heard before any new regulations are put in place.
It is an honor to be named a legislative champion by Bike Maryland for my continued efforts to make our roads safer for bicyclists and pedestrians.
HB 1408 will allow the police to hold drivers who register their cars in other states accountable for their traffic violations.
HB 146 passed out of the Environment and Transportation Committee today. It will be on the House Floor next week for a vote.
HB 55 passed out of the Environment and Transportation Committee today. It will be on the House Floor next week for a vote.
HB 55 is a local control bill that will make our streets safer. Currently, elected officials from all around the state vote to place speed cameras on local roads they don't even know exist. Those decisions should be made locally by the police. HB 55 gives them that ability.

I have submitted the following letter to the State Highway Administration requesting the intersection of York Road (Route 45) and Sherwood Road be evaluated for a traffic light. I will keep you updated as this progresses.
Today, I was surprised by the Maryland Commission for Women and recognized as a legislative champion for 2026. They selected my bill, HB 450, as one of their priority bill that they are tracking. HB 450 protects the identity of victims of sexual assault or stalking from the public record.

2/2 ... As a government our first priority must always be public safety. I sent a letter to the Baltimore City DPW Director, county officials, and the state, asking for an update on the safety of this bridge (which is owned by the city) and information about when a new one will be built.
Where is the Bridge?
In 2023, after a third closure to make significant safety repairs to the Warren Road Bridge, Baltimore City DPW Officials said they were going to begin constructing a replacement in 2025. It's now November and there are no signs of a new one coming. ... 1/2
The numbers are in and on Saturday 43 pets were adopted from the Baltimore County Animal Services Adopt-a-Pet event and brought into loving homes! That includes the very loveable and energetic bulldog Lincoln! He was such a sweetheart.
