What that guy said. In the game Red and you got glimpses of the future where they saw images of you being hurt and Red running around a wasteland and assumed the worst.

I've seen this before it's pretty funny, but it's more accurate to say he did what everyone else is doing first. Him not being beholden to corporate interests is what keeps him winning.

You dont have to research a game system to dump it you just buy a cartridge dumper and do it. Literally anyone with a computer and the equipment can do it. The trouble is maintaining obscure games for later generations.

Oh yeah go to forums/discords that might not even be there or have one or two people post every few months lol.

I've never known romhack creators to get mad about it and if some do it's kind of inevitable. Let's also recall romhacks are like 1% of the content on there.

Also we're talking about archiving here without sites like cdromance, or archive.net, or vimms these games will disappear.

I am a romhack creator and I would be proud if Spike took my content and hosted it. I make no money, nor do I want to. RHDN is a horrible website with an outdated interface. Many of the tools to patch older games are outdated and require windows.

I was thinking more translation patches where in sites like cdromance are great for archiving games that may never see the light of day. Also it houses older romhacks that havent been touched in years by their developers.

This discounts people who are incapable of patching roms. Not to say he's a hero for taking donations, but the people who make romhacks pretty much never ask for money because of potential repercussions.
