I feel like this is the best case and most wholesome case of nostalgia selling. Leaf green and crystal (which is what they need to do next) where massive parts of my growing up. So this doesn't surprise me in the slightest.

The PlayStation run entirely different. It’s a custom system, where each console was different from what I’ve researched making backwards compatibility more difficult.
While it’s great that they have backwards compatibility that’s only possibly because they ran on the same chipset for Xbox’s entire lifespan (besides the 360) that was a power PC architecture instead of X86. This is why it’s easier for older Xbox games to be compatible. From what I know-
