DHS Secretary Kristi Noem out, Trump says She will be replaced by Sen. Markwayne Mullin, Trump said Thursday.

Secretary Noem's legacy is one of racial profiling, abuse by ICE and CBP, free speech violations, and more.

While she is leaving DHS, the anti-immigrant policies devised by White House aide Stephen Miller aren't. Congress must remain firm and deny funding to DHS until they truly rein in ICE.

One of my favorite parts of last night’s election results.

The only Democratic talking point should be: we don’t abandon anyone.

Chart of Dow Jones Industrial Average price for most recent 5 days. Shows index dropping over 1,000 points to start the day but bouncing back to just 500 points down (since I guess a growing war without any real exit or long-term plan is not that disruptive??!)

trump removed the carrot version of EV incentives from IRA and has inadvertently replaced with a stick (punishment) version: gas prices jumping quickly with the chaos and violence Trump illegal war in Iran created.

Separated Bike Lanes Means Safer Streets, Study Says β€” Streetsblog USA Cities that build protected lanes for cyclists end up with safer roads for people on bikesΒ and people in cars and on foot, a new studyΒ of 12 large metropolises revealed Wednesday.

β€œAfter analyzing crash data over a 13-year period in areas with separated bike lanes on city streets, researchers estimated that having a protected bike facility in a city would result in 44% fewer deaths and 50% fewer serous injuries than an average city.”

Safer for ALL.

Absolutely true, but prices are still above Fed’s target, even before a spike in oil and gas prices. While, employment numbers have remained relatively strong. No way Fed can cut rates this month (unless some huge negative economic shock) if prices show lots of signs of going even higher.

02.03.2026 19:25 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Yes, agree. In fact is very obvious. The price pressure this likely to create makes it basically impossible for the Fed to cut rates this month. Especially on top of high wholesale inflation report last week.

CPI and PPI translations into PCE suggest core prices in January rose around 0.43%, give or take.

That would be the highest month-over-month reading since February (which was +0.448%) and annualizes to 5.3%.

It corresponds to a 3.1% y/y rate, the highest since March 2024, up from 2.6% in April.

Totally. Not saying it is going to work out how they hope… also, people are not as into oligarchs and billionaires controlling everything. Would guess a decent number of cancelations as there are a lot of options out there now?

Currently there are no Democrats running in the following flippable Georgia State House seats: HD 45 (Sharon Cooper, East Cobb), HD 147 (Bethany Ballard, Warner Robins), and HD 164 (Ron Stephens, Pooler/Bryan Co). Deadline to file is Friday at noon.

OCASIO-CORTEZ STATEMENT ON
TRUMP'S COMBAT OPERATIONS IN IRAN
"The American people are once again dragged into a war they did not want by a president who does not care about the long-term consequences of his actions. This war is unlawful. It is unnecessary. And it will be catastrophic.

"Just this week, Iran and the United States were negotiating key measures that could have staved off war. The President walked away from these discussions and chose war instead.President Trump flippantly acknowledged the possibility of American casualties, stating "that often happens in war.'

"Mr. President: this was not an inevitability. This is a deliberate choice of aggression when diplomacy and security were within reach. Stop lying to the American people.

"Violence begets violence. We learned this lesson in Iraq. We learned this lesson in Afghanistan. And we are about to learn it again in Iran. Bombs have yet to create enduring democracies in the region and this will be no different.

"In moments of war, our Constitution is unambiguous: Congress authorizes war. The President does not. I will do my part to uphold our Constitution by voting YES on Representatives Ro Khanna and Thomas Massie's War Powers Resolution. Every member of Congress must join us in rejecting this aimless war.

The speed with which American voters are turning against data centers is breathtaking.

One comparison might be what happened to nuclear after the doublewhammy of "The China Syndrome" debuting days before Three Mile Island, except there's no equivalent in terms of Hollywood or industrial accidents.
